I think it is likely KDFL opt to expand south in time , which may either increase or at worst maintain the number of clubs currently within the comp , it may also give a boost to the more southern clubs already within the comp ??
The junior structure from an outsiders view would appear to be the key component going forward and the most likely component to see any current club wish to go elsewhere .
The other thing that might see clubs opt for change is a Shepp based comp , but IMO that is only likely to occur IF Congupna and Rumba were to look for change and possibly one of the current Shepp based GVL clubs .
I'd reckon they'd head west, Locky, colbo, Elmore, maybe leitchy

I think those 4 clubs would be happy to stay in a comp which has a large percentage of players come out of , or live in Bendigo .
Yep agree, but I think there's a few concerns with the juniors, these clubs would prefer under 17s, rather than facing the physically strong Bendigo based clubs under 18s, as their best 18 year olds play seniors

Merrigum 2022 Best & Fairest winner Jack Sinclair is off to Tonny.....

Trent Freer retiring, succumbed to the knee issue? Great career!

I'm hearin Semmel brothers & Gleeson won't be travelling back from Melbourne?

Anymore major club movements?

That’s a big loss for both Merrigum and Stanhope, the Gum might be struggling next year with those that have left so far

Is that true abt the Semmels or just gossip? If it is true, will Free up some money to get some players that are local and train and build as a team..

Is that a subtle little clip for the Semmels normo ? 😁😁
Not at all.. very good players and showed that.. but it’s proven that if u have a core amount off players situated in Melbourne it’s pretty hard to win a flag.. look at lancy, did a fantastic job with having majority of its playing group based in and around Kyabram and able to train, that’s the key..

5-7 years worth of work goes into it normo, then add travel players when it’s needed or opportunity comes up

Was told that was high on Patto's agenda at back emd of the season for exact reason's u said! More locals, all train together & build the bond! But now that Ado is coaching he may have a difference of opinions & try keep them!! 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ash Hughes is leaving Girgarre and going back to his home club Tongala.

Also Girgarre have signed a couple of Tongala players in Nick Woods & Todd Vanroy.

Both played a few senior games this year but mainly twos. They would’ve played seniors in most other sides I’d reckon.

Nick - league medalist last year(2’s) Todd - league runner up this year(2’s)

Both will be good players but not A grade players.

Spot on normo how can I forget 2015 when lancy co coach Russ Lee with the help of David Rigney brought with them a large contingent of Melbourne based players Looked good on paper but just didn’t work The only time lancy saw these players was on Saturday and for a very short period after the game

Is that former Mooroopna Russ Lee swoop ?

He certainly was that swoop. His mate Craig Whelan was no slouch either I have to say.
Mooroopna really rated Whelan when playing there ,not big for a FF but had uncanny skills reminded me a lot of the late Adrian Meka
Pretty sure Whelan still holds the record for most goals in a Kdl game with 34

That he does swoop, strong one on one mark , very Tank McPhee like. He actually, imo , had the measure of Matty Okeefe up at the cattery one day....not too many around the gv circles can lay claim to that 😉

I'll put my hand up Chops..... 🙋🏽‍♂️
Elliot was all but signed at East as he has several very close mates there but decided he still wanted to test himself at a higher level..... Congupna are having a crack next year, close to home so fair choice..... But he had several offers from other GV clubs too.....

I'm also hearing Jack Norman to follow?

If you know a little bit about The Road chops you’d know they’ll hand it out like it’s growing on trees that would have also been an incentive But as smooth stated he did commit to SE
