I know it’s a cause he cares about and obviously he would never have expected it to get this sort of response, but it’s now massively oversubscribed. At this point wouldn’t it be better to donate to another relevant cause? Maybe NFL concussion research, or defibrillators at grassroots games, or the hospital he’s in.

That’s probably not high on his list of priorities right now, no.

I’m just wondering why people would continue to donate to a cause that’s oversubscribed by about 1200x what it was originally seeking. I get the impulse, but I just think there’s better ways to recognise him.

Yeah but then the people donating wouldn't feel like they're a part of something.

There's a lot of research on the psychology of crowdsourced donations and it's all depressing, do not read it

You have gone off it way to early.. anything after and including episode 6 in that series was awesome.. three of the best on screen monologues written for any series occur in the second half of the show…

I simply wasn’t invested in the characters, the story, none of it.

Glad you enjoyed it, but this wasn’t for me.
