Force of habit to put "and x billy/ies". A lot of people still sent a billy, but they didn't count towards the score.
Was a joke because I billied it.

1. The Victims - Television Addict Tonga Bob
5 - Blur The Filth Wizard
4 - Steely Dan Fossie 32 (yep)
3 - Rishloo Ulahoopski (yep)
2 - Fear Factory NaturalDisaster
1 - The Radio Dept. TubbsFarquhar
HM - Rammstein, Kimbra, MIdnight Oil, Public Access TV, Orleans, NF (7 or more)
DM - Jake Bugg, Brad Paisley, Dua Lipa, Roger Waters, Megan Thee Stallion, TV on the Radio(4 or less)
They're baaaaaaaaaaack - the patented OES comments on every song that nobody asked for. As always ratings are out of ten and can include half points if I want to bump a song up or down based on something extra/missing. No rating for any song I have skipped. Generally skippable tracks are ones I just don't want to bother with and would probably only score a 3 or lower anyway.
Orleans - Great boomer track this one. Solid listen 7/10
Rishloo - The intro sounds like Shoegaze and then it turns into a really great progressive sounding track - phenomenal 9/10
The Buggles - Something about this song has always been lame and cheesy to me - can't explain it. It's really not that bad - 5/10
Steely Dan - Absolutely fantastic track - that piano is great but it's the guitar solo at the end that lifts this - 9.5/10
TV on the Radio - Promising start but it tapered off after seming a bit same same. Still listened to it all but a bit meh. 4/10
Jake Bugg - Just no. Skipped almost less than thirty seconds in. NR/10
Brad Paisley - Country?no thanks, next. NR/10
NF - failing to see the link to Media with this track but otherwise a great listen with a catchy hook - 8/10
Rammstein - Can't go wrong with the techno metal gods - just an all round banger - 9/10
Kimbra - Love her voice, it's so sexy. The music is pretty groovy too - another solid track - the sax towards the end earns a bonus half point. 7.5/10
Audio Shaman - Nice ambient track - always good to have one of these in the middle to break things up a bit. Especialy like the strings throughout and the acoustic solo from about the two minutes is delightful. Some of the best tremelo I've heard before too. 8/10
Northlane - I don't get this band - they sound like they're trying to bring metal into the mainstream. They are very hit or miss with me and this is definitely a miss - 4.5/10
Genesis - My song - as always, will use this to predict. I thought this might be a chance at getting me a top seven spot - that acoustic intro and the fact it never really gets incredibly heavy might help me get a few votes but otherwise I see you phillistines not giving it the respect it deserves - 8-12 votes, 16th-20th place - NO RATING
Megan Thee Stallion - Oof. This song has a great beat and is catchy but this is a good week not to get the Billy as this would've s**t it in. (note, I would have given it to the country crap, not this) Being short actually helped it even though I think I kinda wanted to hear more. For me, she is like car crash music, can't stop listening and yet don't want to listen anymore - it's like she's deliberately trying to sound as filthy as possible - going for shock value rather than anything of substance - having said that lyrically I always enjoy Megan's filth. If it went longer it would get a pass but for now it gets 4/10
Fear Factory - great track - probably largely forgotten in the rise of the Nu Metal movement but I quite like this style. Nothing more to say - this is just my jam. 9/10
Dua Lipa - meh. Paint by numbers pop with absolutely nothing going for it. Twice as long as MTS but I listened to half as much before falling asleep - literally listened to the whole thing so I could rate it - 2/10
Blur - Old school Blur is terrific - this is the way to my heart with that mid-late nineties rock. The reverb on the guitar really lifts the track in my opinon. Going to be hard to beat this one 9.5/10
C. Diab - slow intro which just helps to build an ambience that unfrotunately never goes anywhere - not unpleasant to listen to but also not particularly pleasant - loses half a point due to the wanting factor of the track 4.5/10
Roger Waters - I don't think anything he did after leaving Pink Floyd was particularly good tbh. I always felt like he was the least impressive vocalist of the band. The reason that The Wall and Animals couldn't quite live up to the success of TDSOTM and WYWH was because you could see Waters was losing interest and not giving his best performance... also the best track of the two latter albums is easily Shine On You Crazy Diamond (which is my favourite PF song) and that's 25 minutes of insturmental with about 1:30 of lyrics. Yeah this song did nothing for me - 4/10
The Victims - I never knew David Faulkner was in another band before Hoodoo Gurus but I quite like the quintessential rockabilly, punk style that would later be emuilated by the likes of Living End (to an extent) and I can hear the influence on HG's as well. 6/10
MIdnight Oil - I always loved early Midnight Oil when they were political without being overly pretentious about it. So yeah, great track this one although a lot of the songs on this album sound samey except for Outside World and this suffers from that too. 7/10
Talking Heads - Nice song and gave birth to a terrific band but really nothing much going for it - a bit too reggaeish for my liking. Good track but that's all 6/10
Public Access TV - Good track that doesn't overstay its welcome and also doesn't grab me as much as some other ones. Turning into a very generic playlist this one. 7/10
The Radio Dept - The distortion on the track - sounds overlayed actually - and the piano are two things that stand out to me and this is actually quite strong. In the mix for votes for sure. 9/10
Litle Simz - Yeah not bad - not really my cup of tea. I go through it so 5/10
The Drifters - Boomer music. Can't go wrong. Can't go too high either. 6/10
I watched the intro and laughed but as soon as the song started I was like “oh I’m not gunna like this am I? This is going to be bad isn’t it” and it just didn’t hit me. Sorry bro. But let’s be real how often do you and I really agree on anything let alone taste in music? That’s the fun of the contest.Just no? What on Earth..

Did your boy vote? If so. Bloody legend5- NF
4- Goenkaji
3- The drifters
2- the buggles
1- tv on the radio
Suppose I'd think you'd give it more than 30 seconds to judge but all good, just feel like that kind of comment is reserved for a Jesus nom or a genuinely awful song. Guess his voice isn't for everyone. Brilliant song though.
