You cant have any organisational development changing leadership positions every two years and not being able to handle setbacks, learn from them , and move forward - people have to learn to embrace error as part of building to success...
When Cook said the world doesn't come to an end if the team doesn't make finals- he was speaking the truth from a perspective of experience and maturity.
he probably knows as does Voss and anyone else with a brain - that the list is unbalanced, unfinished and has a lot of holes....
until that is sorted expectations have to be commensurate with ability.
The talking down expectations began very early, which makes me think the club internally knows more than they are letting on in regards to players carrying injuries, being underdone with lack of pre seasons etc in which they knew things would get worse as far back as around the time of the St Kilda loss.
If the above is true with injury hit players we are carrying and underdone guys on top of that, that would explain this ultra defensive game plan, as the coaches think we’d be destroyed if we tried a more free flowing style.
It’s the only rationale I can come up with. Either that or Voss is a complete idiot for persisting with it all year.
