Seems like patch notes are out already .. not sure how to feel about it.. thoughts?? 👀

ITS GONE LIVE ALSO! Just got it on PS5 = 1.7GB

So we can conclude Training mode, along with single player mode just never existed and they’ve taken us for a ride since day 1 🤣 I swear this mob never fails to deliver on failing to deliver.

So now people aren’t allowed to air their grievances on the game based on their experiences because you say so? I can’t speak for others but I never said I hated the game, but the bare bones of it in its current state added in with bugs doesnt entice repetitive plays for me.

Also, we’re not allowed to point out the game is buggy from its patches? Wipe 85% of this thread then. Wait around all you want, the games been out for 8 weeks exactly, not an unreasonable amount of time for things to have been fixed to an acceptable level. Oh and its also still not available on an entire console, but sure, have a dig at those less patient than you. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Yeah, I'm with ya here. I'll admit that I have an account over there as well to keep track of development and be able to contact BA but I'll be honest. While I'm getting enjoyment out of the game and think it will continue to get better eventually, I'm not blind.

I know so many people have found the game bad because it's buggy and bare bones which it is. We're still missing the Xbox release, Features are still not in the game and frankly, I don't blame people for not wanting to wait for things after having bought the game 2 months ago. It's frankly been a shitshow and frankly a textbook example on how not launch a game and how not to respond after said launch goes bad.

Was hoping they'd at least answer the burning questions over there on management mode etc, but it looks like the word is still "don't say anything and hopefully it'll go away"

Was a bit silly of me to assume piss poor communication would magically improve with an in-house forum, but oh well. Gotta be grateful I guess! 🙄

This is absolutely spot on.
95% of consumers won’t sit around waiting over 2 months for a product they bought to be fixed and that’s absolutely fair enough.
For those that do, congrats. Enjoy ‘Play Now’ on repeat for god knows how long

Maybe there is so called piss poor communication because not much more if anything else is being added to management mode this time around? Everyone likes to ask the questions and then quote Ross etc “but Ross said this, Ross said that”. Maybe the lack of communication on certain things like management mode has todo with the fact we ain’t getting much more added?.
I get the natural response to that would be, “they should just tell us then”. The thing is no matter what they say these days it’s gonna get criticised and dissected it within an inch of its life. Probs don’t wanna give too much hope or upset people, hence they aren’t saying much 🤷🏻. Plus they don’t have to if they don’t want to I guess.
Also I think a lot people have taken a few words from Ross: “there is more come/be added” as management mode is getting this overhaul. I doubt that’s gonna happen. It may still get improvements but not drastic ones.

I personally think management mode is what it is, we may end up with some small things added but that’s it. Let’s be honest, I think we all know that deep down and a lot of the questions people ask are futile.
Hopefully they add improvements to management mode, but i think where it’s at right now is exactly where BA plan it to be. (For now)

How many patches have actually been released since Ross stated they’d move to almost daily steam patches and weekly on consoles?
There was one patch on Steam the day after the “mostly daily” tweet went out, on June 10th. Since then there’s been patches on the 16th and 21st on Steam.

I believe consoles are at 2 patches In that time.

So 3 weeks later there’s been 5 patches total across 3 platforms 🤣

I feel like this is all people are asking. If this is the case, while it would leave management mode quite bare despite promising the deepest ever, we would have clarity and not be here every day holding onto hope that we just might get what was promised. I got the game for management mode so if that question was answered, I’d be able to make a decision based on that about how much more time I put into the game.

As positive as I’ve been the fact is (whether accidental with launch or not) they’ve promised the world and delivered an atlas.
It’s definitely improving but how long can we realistically be expected to sit here twiddling our thumbs in the hope that we get an answer that still may not even bring any good news.

I’m not saying every single thing should be answered down to minute details but meet us in the middle and give the consumers something to work with.

I’m on PS5 and have been waiting the best part of two weeks for a patch that Steam got a week ago (possibly two, not 100% certain on dates).
It’s good that Nacon are doing external quality testing but again there’s been zero communication on how the testing may be tracking? Does it need more work? Are Nacon the ones taking forever? If it’s beyond your control with Nacon taking forever surely you communicate that.

I’ve given the benefit of the doubt for close to two months (even 3 if we include the initial delay) but it’s getting to a stage here where it’s hard to keep giving chances.

I’m still confident the game will be good, I still hope they get another crack to get it right with another game but the longer things take and the less communication we get, the more of the consumer base they’re going to lose sadly.

By the time Xbox get the game and potentially when pro team comes out we might have 5 rounds of the season plus finals left and that’s just gonna kill a lot of interest.

Rip the band-aid off I say. They did it when announcing no player career mode which upset people, but for the most part we moved on pretty quick from that disappointment. I haven't seen it mentioned for ages.

If they're holding back on announcing no new features in management mode for fear of upsetting people, then they're even more thin skinned than I thought. We're not the ones who promised the deepest mode ever, if they can't achieve that, then suck it up and tell us.

We were supposed to know everything about the game before we bought it. That was the promise. Over a month later, we still don't know. How this is even remotely acceptable to anyone is beyond me.

The way they've behaved I wouldn't be surprised if nothing is said until after the Xbox launch, they scoop up those sales, then turn around and say that's it, management mode is just a lot of play now matches strung together, sorry not sorry.

I just hope that the reduction in patches (even since the announcement of the ‘most days’ patches for Steam) has been because of the focus on Pro Team and making that 100%.

Yeah I agree meeting in the middle would be the best thing but for some that still wouldn’t be good enough. That’s where BA would need to come out and say “that’s all the information we are providing and if there is anything else worth mentioning or that we can say then we will.. otherwise, that’s all for now”
With regards to testing I wonder if nacon are basically calling the shots and what they can and can’t say? Ross has said it’s out of there control 🤷🏻

Almost 8-9 weeks of AFL left for someone like me on the Xbox is actually enough time for me personally. Now obviously I don’t speak for other Xbox uses, but getting a game that actually plays close to what it should with some time left in the season 🤷🏻 imma take that lol.

Also people underestimate the power of the AFL gaming community, yes it’s only smallish but people still tend to get up and about for new things and I have no doubt people will, if not for curiosity get excited for pro team. Like people want to say the game is dead, it’s only been out less than 3 months and there is still an Xbox version and pro team to come plus more improvements. It’s far from dead, atleast from my perspective.

I'm curious what build of the game they are testing Pro Teams on because online was garbage when I returned my copy and there's been zero online fixes for consoles even though it is a "priority".

As usual though, absolutely zero communication and transparency.

All the management mode stuff is hilarious when you think about it. It really doesn’t seem like they have many (if any) plans to add any more depth to the mode after promising a deep and immersive experience. I actually don’t think there is a single sports game on the market right now with a more bare bones experience. The little immersion there is gets killed when you see things like Hugh Bond (Adelaide rookie who hasn’t played a game) averaging 40 disposals a game in year one, or Matt Rowell getting delisted because why the hell not?

I think some people don’t really hold on to those things and getting annoyed over it. I think some just want a game that is enjoyable to them and don’t care about the other stuff. I personally just take life as it is what it is and no point getting angry over things I can’t control. Would it be nice to know everything that was gonna be in the game? Sure! Do I care or am I upset? No. It’s not worth it. I’ll be happy to just get the game and play it.

Did they promise deepest mode ever? Those words? Sorry just trying to remember lol
If management mode is left to the way it is, I understand some people will be left angry and frustrated but not much we can do about I guess. Hopefully for those who care they make management mode deeper. Management modes haven’t always been for me but each to their own.

I just feel alot of communication has been damned if they do damned it they don’t. I reckon they had a few ideas for the game originally but then alot things/decisions have changed, which has meant changes to what they originally wanted to put into the game. Those changes (right or wrong) I guess has lead to what we have now. They perhaps should have kept it simple and avoided change but 🤷🏻 maybe some new ideas & priorities got the better of them.

I wonder a whole lot of things about this game and guess what? No answers to most of them since day one.
I guess if it’s a nacon directive they may not want to say anything about that as to no upset them or to be seen to be stepping on their toes so to speak. Whatever the reason who knows. Again it could be a nacon directive

I wonder if that’s a nacon directive. I wonder if nacon are calling the shots hence the lack of communication. Ross did say it’s out of their hands, maybe nacon have taken over all that stuff regards to patches and what they can and can’t say about em 🤷🏻

It never ceases to amaze the lengths people will go to give the benefit of the doubt even after being repeatedly let down time and again.

I found this pretty hilarious over on the BA forum almost 2 days ago (still unanswered BTW)...

Seriously? An issue that has been complained about constantly since release and they'll just see what they can find out 8wks later!

Surely with all the bug and suggestion reports that have been submitted since launch they would have a list of those most frequently mentioned and whether they are a priority or not.

Because that’s in my nature. It may not be in yours but that’s fine. Unless i know for fact or the reasons behind what’s gone on, I always assume/give benefit of the doubt. You may think I’m an ignorant and stupid but I don’t care. Each to their own.

It's actually a measured response from CraigMc24.
We're all disappointed we don't have the full feature-listed game...and that patches have slowed, issues still exist, communication has been off.... but it doesn't mean all logical thought needs to be thrown out and we pull out the torches and pitchforks.
Pretty sure he's just as disappointed as anyone...

Yes, but they are damned ultimately because they released a broken game. From there actions speak louder than words, and if it's all words (or no words) and no action, then the lack of action means that no communication style would work.

Basically, make a good game = not damned.
Make a bad game and don't fix it = damned.

Let's not put the onus on the customer to offer them some absurd benefit of the doubt. We are consumers and they are producers. We paid for a product that hasn't been delivered, and we aren't getting clear communication on when we can expect this to be rectified, if at all.

The fact that they cop some abuse or criticism when they promise a deadline and miss it isn't an excuse for them to stop communicating to all of their customers. This is the real world, business and customer, not some petty Facebook argument where spite rules the roost.

Did Commbank put out a tweet when their systems were cooked on Monday saying "You know what, **** you all. We have a huge number of customers and make X billion per year, we must be doing something right. If you're gonna abuse us like this we just won't communicate anymore - serves you right. Did I mention we make X billion per year btw?"

It could be considered measured if there wasn't already a litany of examples of blame shifting both pre and post release.

At some point the benefit of the doubt needs to be somewhat earned.
