I actually don't think we should be focusing on a new coach. I think we should be focusing on a completely new coaching 'team'. One of the biggest strategies and reasons for our success from 2017 + was that we completely revamped our assistant coaches. Dimma was also ready to listen to new ideas and game plans at that stage so collectively, they created a game plan from the ideas of the collective plus one that suited the strengths of our players.

If we want to move forward again in a similar fashion, we need to focus on the assistant coaches as much as the head coach. The idea that the head coach is the one who runs everything is antiquated. Its a team of leaders all pushing in the same direction.

So while we are undertaking the process of finding a new head coach, we should be thoroughly reviewing our existing assistant coaches and looking to spend the extra money we gain from losing Dimma, on the collective team of coaches rather than just the team manager.

By virtue of a new head coach that’ll happen automatically as several will walk should they be unsuccessful

Has Newman been appointed yet?
Of opposition teams I suppose Hawthorn impressed me the most this year.
In terms of over achievement.
I don't really watch them except for when they play us.
I liked Newman as a player but been gone long enough His coaching record also good enough.
I think Mitchell is one of the few new coaches to make big list changes.
Being an assistant at the Hawks for a while, allowed that.
I wouldn't expect Newman to make much list changes.lyon, scott didn't. Nor is dimma by the look of it

Balmey today confirmed what we already knew mini is the coach

We are just playing the media

Best club in the business
Yes, Mini rejected a major salary offer from Ross Lyon.
McQualter would have been an excellent fit at the Saints.
Perhaps Kingsley knew too and looked elsewhere.
There are very few triple premiership assistants on the market, Mini has an impeccable pedigree.

Exactly also knocked offers from the blues the dogs and the vfl

The man has known for many years he was the next one in line

Balme said he'd be surprised if Mcqualter isn't at Richmond in some capacity going forward, that he is very much a richmond guy

As if we can take anything Balme says as truth or fiction especially when there is a process still going on

He’s never gonna tell it straight out

I don’t care who coaches us as long as they understand the way AFL is played right now and adjusts our game plan to suit, including putting players back into positions that suit their strengths. I don’t want to see Pickett in the forward line, HRS off a back flank, Soldo or Nank forward.
