I thought the Blues said they were aware of the drug charges before they inked the deal.

They would have taken over his 3 year deal from GC and I guess Carlton put a clause in, which Hollands agreed to, to reduce it to 1 year if he was formally charged.

I don't think there would be any legal basis of reducing a contract without consent. Sacking, sure. Reducing a contract seems half pregnant.

The Carringbush has become the pacesetter in so many areas. Here we go again. Just why we didn't snap up Brendan in at least a part-time role, particularly with the loss of Egan and with his record in player development is hard to understand. He lives just down the road for goodness sake.

The Magpies also revealed they have recruited ex-Bulldogs coach Brendan McCartney to work as a part-time development coach. He was at Collingwood over the 2023 pre-season and at times throughout the premiership year.

He’s been at half the clubs in Victoria, hardly pacesetting.

This is correct, and all parties knew he was going to be formally charged.

Player development wasn't his primary role at the Bombers, the Bullies, or the Dees.

Player development is Brendan's forte. There are plenty of people who will tell you he was the best player development manager our club has had.

For years after his AFL journey, he had his own player development sports company, which encompassed more than merely AFL players.

It does show the Carringbush knows their stuff.
