I cant see how the AFL can punish a player for something that occurred privately between 2 people and is not a criminal matter? If it is a criminal matter then take it to the cops. If its not then Tarryn lawyers should sue the f**k out of the AFL. No wonder it has been postponed, the AFL are probably lawyering up to see if they are breaking any laws.

The AFL have no ability to take any non-statute criminal allegations to the police on behalf of an adult.

There's been no official stand down from the club aye, seems to have been told to keep away from training so as to not cause a distraction.

This would’ve been the afl preferred outcome, I doubt TT lawyers would ever agree to it without getting something in return..

The only bearing that any outside conduct should have on whether you are stood down pending investigation or not, is "does it affect their integrity in doing their job?". If yes, stand down. If no, keep working until the investigation is complete.

In hypothetical terms, the employer also needs to consider the impact on co-workers and the bottom line. The accused person may still be able to complete their tasks to acceptable standards while under investigation, but if the sum output of the entire staff is diminished because colleagues have lost trust in the accused person, then the employer may need to stand the accused person down (on full pay) for the good of the company.
