We can probably all assume these are not isolated instances. Verbal and physical abuse tends to take on a pattern of behaviour which aims to “reclaim” power over another, at the other person’s expense. This instance is most likely the first ice-cube of the tip of the iceberg.

I had to calmly turn off the radio tonight …corn and Gerard were back to blaming the club for selecting TT and Polec in the same draft handing over pick 12 which was butters….the vibe was along the lines of what a bunch of morons …look at where Polec and TT are at the moment when they could have had Butters……ect ect … blah blah…
Then in next convo praising the sweeping changes B Scott has brought into Essendon and his new assistant coaches….to which Gerard explained he gets a free hit in the next few years from “them“ as he’s “rebuilding With his new team”.
Thats where l turned off and thought…..gee l wonder what FW was coach and his so called team that signed off on these drafting disasters that they keep referring too…oh yeah most are at the Dons which you just praised up not more than 5 seconds ago…..

But you wouldn't have a clue what the extent of the allegations are. You're just assuming it's overblown because he wears a North jumper and is talented.

This shouldn’t be coming through the AFL, this should be something handled by the club.

If the club chooses to get rid of a dickhead, I have no issue at all, but the fact the AFL are stepping in makes absolute zero sense. These were not public allegations.

The fact the the club said they weren’t even aware of the allegations and we have Ed’s kid coming out and announcing it to the world has massive red flags.

For all parties concerned the AFL should have notified the club and let them decide on if they want to get rid of him or dish out a big punishment.

As I said, are the AFL now going to rule on all AFL players that are dickheads? If so better set up a new Department, because they are going to be very busy.

Either someone looking and provoking our very own ******* because there’s a sense of injustice. There has been the theme of punishment for TT by this person many times.

But clearly it wasn’t bad enough to warrant criminal charges last time so I can’t see how it’s any worse this time.

I agree. There should be evidence to back up any decision. The penalty is harsh but the context of this is that Thomas has acted consistently like a flog and the AFL has a history of making an example of North players.

I was told from a reliable source that Thomas claims his revenge pr0n threat (which he didn’t even have the video to leak) was direct retaliation for her threatening the exact same thing.

Reading all these replies about Tarryn. Ian puzzled by those who are sticking up for him. Don’t you realise that culture of this club now is so important? And having a player that is a constant distraction is not what The NMFC needs. What sort of message does it give to all these young talented draftees. Yes Tarryn is talented. But no Tarryn is a bad egg, and unless this cancer is cut from the club, the club will not become what we all want it to be.

All this does is undermine the footy club and make them look like a bunch of incompetent idiots that can’t be trusted to deal with player indiscretions.

I personally vote option 3.

More to the point, there are 800 or so players and the AFLPA, so what precedent is being set here by the AFL with sketchy details?

Back in the day a West Coast player was charged, convicted and pleaded guilty to a number of violent offences.

So, beating a taxi driver with his own aerial is a pass. But texts, images and whatever else TT is up to is not based on gender? What if TT where gay?

All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others is the problem, regardless of 1,2 or 3.

There's any number of reasons why a victim of DV or threatening behavior wouldn't go to the police, basically all of which are well documented ad nauseum. I guess the ex is lucky that there is a professional organization which actually has a contract with Tarryn that she can report his conduct to.

Or, you can put 2+2 together and get an ex girlfriend who has been the victim of multiple alleged threatening incidents, who very well may have received ongoing threats of violence from Tarryn, who didn't want to report his conduct to the police for any number of reasons, and reported it to the AFL.

Except this had happened in the past? And the club did deal with it? And gave him counselling, made him take a night job, suspended him, brought him back from the brink... And then he did it all again?
