Game Day HOME GAME: Adelaide v Geelong - FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Big fan normally but he is absolutely the definition of panic merchant tonight. Agreed on the first term.

I agree, but at least he's busting his arse and making an impact. I'm sure he's playing frustrated/angry as a result of the stupidity of the first quarter.

Hopefully we can get him to reset mentally and be a factor for the rest of the game.

The most amazing thing about this is that we are making the same mistakes against Geelong that we have been doing for the past 6 or 7 years.
It’s absolutely amazing really
Stewart can do something our key forwards can't

Lead to the fall of the ball.

At the game you can see this pretty easily.

He doesn't mop up shank kicks. He plays the backline like a key forward.

Our consistent problem is that our key forwards Tex and Fog are not great contested marks.

Hence Stewart does well against us.

Clearly it's kick it to Tom Stewart.

We are absolutely nailing it.
Just like we always kick it to Steven May or Alir Alir or J.McGovern all the Premier intercept defenders in the league ****ing love playing us.

It's frustrating that we don't plan around those really good contested markers.

They all kill us, Every. Damn. Time.

Well we have played crap and been swamped at the contest but still are only 2 goals behind. So we aren't that bad considering. Could easily win this. But we really shouldn't let it get to this.

Problem area:
Still obsessed with kicking it to Tex. They should be decoying Tex at this stage of his career and try and target Fogarty. Tex looks a combination of rusty and old. There is no certainties he will turn into prime 2023 Tex.
Me thinks we would have at least one more goal had we be looking to kick it to Tex.

Our forward entries have been a disaster.

Thing is Pedlar was racking up some touches. Then he just shits the bed when he kicks it. It's so frustrating. He was hurt factor personified last year and now he looks like another version of Laird.

We need to start recruiting players that have good field kicking. You want guys like Tex and Ranking kicking it into the 50.

We got the pedlar/Stewart matchup very wrong. That’s on nicks. Other than that we’ve wasted so many forward entries, doesn’t look like the same system we had last year something very off.

Back to that handball happy Crouch/Laird combo too

34 possessions, 26 handballs, 186 metres gained.

Not Crouch's fault our Buffoons select Laird in the same side, should be either not both.

Crouch in way better form so Laird shoild be sent back to SANFL like Crouch had to do.

Why is Laird above that but Crouch wasn't??

Having both messes with our midfield mix.
