The worst one I've seen was over the weekend, might have been Cooney.

Can't find a quote but he said something along the lines of this:

"They've got such a strong defence behind the ball. Stewart obviously, De Koning is a great young player, Henry is back and is a star.

The forward line with those two big guys up there, and the smalls with Miers, Stengle, Close & now Dempsey.

Holmes will run through the midfield, Bruhn will run through the midfield, Clark now as another young player.

It seems like Geelong won't be going down for a while"

************************

What s**ts me is WE KNEW THAT ALREADY. This isn't new information.

Every living Geelong supporter could have told you all of that at any point over the off-season...you just didn't listen.

It's the same on SEN last week. Kane, Gerard, & Hodgey where discussing how good our young talent is

Mentioned Dempsey, Clark, Holmes, Bruhn, Bowes, even Conway & Knevitt.

...Again..if you'd actually bothered to do any research you would have known this...but you didn't.

I know it's not that big of a deal..but all of these pundits are getting paid to do this. It isn't charity, they are paid for their opinions, and so called 'analysis'.

To get it so wrong so consistently would get you the lemon & sass in any other industry...but in this one, we just allow the same drivel for 15 years....and then they wonder why Geelong supporters call them out on their BS.

Truth. Media Morons had no grasp of us being cruelled by injury in 23, so written off on hangover terms, and going forward.
Our depth is cream rising to the surface, but wait for the first loss, praise is always retractable with those front runners.

Drivel is right, ch9 Sunday morning, 10 seconds about our game, before the whankers started irrelevant jokery about each other.
Much prefer the BF analysis, pay some of the incisive brains on here.

Outs: Dangerfield (inj), Stanley (mgr), Knevitt & Mullin (omitted)

Ins: Duncan, Conway, Bowes & Bruhn

If either of Bowes or Bruhn isn't 100%, I'd keep Mullin in - curious to see how he'd go on a field the size of the MCG, especially if we told him to back himself, use his pace and take the game on

Rest Atkins another week - no point taking unnecessary risks at this time of year, especially with a 5-day break to follow this match

Thinking these couple of rounds are when we need to look at a squad over both games

I don't want to just win. I want them eviscerated.

I wonder if Kingy thinks he's damned if he does praise the Cats (because that's old news or not something that makes him look like the self-styled "data whisperer" he likes to present) and damned if he doesn't (because we keep turning up) so better just to say less and hope we go away?
You are giving him far too much credit.
King gets all his info and thoughts from Champion Data, this is why when challenged on things he can't actually reason or give an answer.
We were bad last year so based off champion datas numbers, we will struggle this year.. The raw numbers don't take into consideration injuries and the like... He can't contribute more than that, and that is why Joey can talk us up as he's actually researched properly and put thought into it...

watch if we get rolling he'll about face and start making talking points about things we are doing that are working for us, that all happen to align with the champion data metrics.

With the number of footy journalists out there you'd think they'd find a way to have each team followed start to finish in detail.

Doing actual work and analysis doesn't generate clicks I'm afraid

Where is this rumour coming from that Stanley is injured?

It's known he spent extended time in the rooms during the first quarter getting a knee concern looked at

There's then been unconfirmed suggestions of a hand injury, potentially broken

2 weeks isn’t bad. I was expecting 4.
We should be fine without him.
We'd be 1-1 at best, or 0-2 without him weeks 1 and 2.
Sadly, he IS critical to our chances of winning any game.
2 players that we struggle without are Danger and Blicavs.
If our MF was in a better state, maybe, but no Guthrie, maybe no Atkins, hope Bruhn is ok.
We still should win this week, but with all the media scrutiny on Hawthorn, they probably come out cavalier with nothing to lose.

Aren't we just talking about Monday's game?
OWAAT.

With the short turnaround & interstate flight for our Rnd 4 match, there's a number of us looking at how we best prepare for both matches and guessing are hoping the club is doing the same

After Monday's match, one could logically conclude that recovery will be more important then full training sessions next week - we play Monday, will have Tue, Wed & Thur for match prep ahead of flying out Friday

So the idea of looking at the potential need for a squad of say 26/27 for these next couple of matches, doesn't seem unreasonable discussion

Not earlier.

Was mentioning if Stanley was injured… would we play Conway v Hawks (which I think he will play even if Stanley is fit) and then 5 days later v the doggies in SA.

Or… would we play Conway v Hawks and then maybe bring Neale in to spend time in the ruck with Blitz verse a more mobile English.

Just running through potential possibilities.
