Which player(s) do we chase for 2008?

Ok, lets forget about last nights game for a second.

By all accounts we have some dollars to spend and the gun uncontracted players are slowly committing to their present clubs (as expected I should add).

So who do we chase? Do we wave $1M under the nose of someone who doesn't deserve it or chase 2 players that wouldn't be in our top 3 or 4 but perhaps in our top 12 to get an instant depth improvement?

Have no idea of his contract status but an Adam Hunter would be great IMO with another $400K valued mid fielder. Thoughts?

My only hopes of getting a FB is through the ND and that is Chris Kangars.

Adam Hunter is the same as Petrie. Can play anywhere and dominate. Do we need another who can do the same? Don't think so.


How about a Rosa from west coast? Good young hard midfielder

Apparently Judd wants out of WCE because of the Ben Cousins situation, and North is his preferred choice, the problem is who do we trade for him?, Swallow and Jones, or Swallow and a 3rd round pick? Or Leigh Brown and Ed Sansbury?

They won't take it. We'll have lets say pick 13. Riggio and McConnell are hardly proven.

I was joking about the trade names, because you would have to give up quality to get quality, just couldn't bring myself to post the W word, as for the Judd rumour, it was posted on the main board, and I have no idea for its veracity, if thats the word. Perhaps some of our Western Australian freinds could help.

It would be easy to throw up names of ex-WA players (and I don't mean Wells) but as a hypothetical if the players were available and keen I think we need to look at guys that want to return home first.

I think we would be staring down the barrel of our first 2 picks and possible a player but I think there is less risk than putting our eggs in one basket (case)

Not really. Judd is much better than Wells at everything, McIntosh is decent but we have Hale AND Petrie. 2nd Rounder is pretty late and we've been poor at drafting lately.

I would shoot myself if we let go both of them for 1 player. If we only got 1 pick for carey, who is/was the best player of all times, then judd is worth 1 pick also.

We got Pick 2 and Pick 18 for a player who'd never return and was 31 years old. Judd is 24 and is a fantastic player is the peak of his career.

I think we shelve trading and just draft best available. If we trade Id rather we sold off players to make more room for drafting kids.

Make no mistake, we are still a developing team. We need some quality young kids. No quick fix mentality like a couple of recent trading seasons.

Not a single superstar in there. Smith is good but F/S is the reason we got him. The rest, except Pratt, have been pretty poor. Compare that to other's drafting and you'll find at least 1 superstar pick, I mean Wells is not a #2.
