We all hope that happens.

But if Caminiti and Sharman are flaky like they have been we don't have any other options. Keeler is no where near it at the moment.

Always good to have a bit of depth, it'd also be nice to have a competitive VFL side too if they do happen to come on.

Anyway, it's not the end of the world but I can't see why we'd be happy to see him go for nothing.

I don't think Sharman has been flaky. He just needs to be backed in as a forward and our forward structure and delivery inside 50 need to continue to improve. If that happens, Coops is going to absolutely smash it next year.

I think Sharmo showed pretty reasonable consistency last season. Mitchito getting back to his 2023 form will help... and if we draft Smilie or Langford then you'd think Scud would also spend plenty of time in that lead up half forward/3rd tall role.

It's a strange scenario...if we retain Membrey, he is still too good to overlook for selection, so it does slow the development of Sharman or Caminiti if they make way. But he's also still probably a little old to be part of the next finals tilt.
If I was Collingwood, I'd take him in a heartbeat, could well kick the winning goal deep in the 4th quarter of a premiership

We can't rely on Hayes to be second ruck he's played 2.67 games a season since we got him
like it or not he is, unless we pick someone else up last minute. Or the coaches suddenly have a change of heart about Max Heath. I would have played Heath and/or Keeler in that last Carlton game to see how they go at AFL level but what do i know.

His back end of the season was good but he also hasn't been able to cement a spot in the side for a decent period of time.

If that's not flaky I'm not sure what is. And I rate him by the way.

He was dropped twice this year.not sure how that can be considered consistent.

His back end was very handy.

Too old for our next stint yet we have people here happy to give away a 2nd round pick for Macrae.

I get he played there for a bit, bur I want to slap you for;
  1. Calling Keeler a "medium" type.
  2. Calling him a defender.

Man is a ruck forward that played defense cause it's easier to learn play than it is being up forward or in mid.
You want to slap me?

We're talking about filling the role of 'third tall defender' so I listed nine players on our list who could play that role.

Keeler is playing defence, is listed as a defender and could possibly play the role.

I was really hoping for a ruck that would play first ruck, win hit outs, improve our midfield, and release Marshall to be that forward/utility with a massive tank. Looks like now we will be retaining our 2024 set up which is really not up to scratch from a midfield perspective.

Sharmo was consistently good when he came back in for the last few months of the season.

That can be considered consistent can't it?

He improved in the second half of season for sure that Essendon game was his breakout game IMO

They are just named as cheap possibilities - who do you suggest we pick up?

Reid is sorry Liam Reidy from Freo who they expect to get delisted.
The only blokes I’d look at are Moyle, Bryan, and Reeves, and all require trades which I’m not sure we’d be prepared to pay enough for to satisfy their current clubs.

Otherwise the ruck pool is fairly shallow; we’re very likely to have to go with Marshall and some combination of Hammer, Keeler and Moose.

We’ll likely have someone train with us, but buggered if I know who.

Victim of his own versatility IMO. Much like Battle early on - thrown forward, back, wing, sub. When allowed to settle up forward late in the season he thrived.

Marshall kicked 15 goals this year from 22 games and averaged half a goal a game for his career.

Im really not convinced hes a forward and our forward line with King, Camma, Sharman (and maybe Membs) is already very very tall and very very slow.

Roma is our number 1 ruck and all we really need is Camma to play FF, King to play CHF and Camma to chop him out for 4 minutes a quarter.

If we wanna get a ruckman to be there in case Roma is injured thats fine, we shouldnt be looking for anyone we expect to play a split with Roma, its blunting a massive weapon we have.
