I'd send our recruiters over to Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA if they'd let us behind the curtain.
I'd love to know their drafting philosophy and process of how they scout players.
They seem to find really good players, not just Durant, Harden and Westbrook high end picks, but even at pick 12 (Jalen Williams) and even pick 50 something (Aaron Wiggins) they find very good players and role players.
So… put money on…?Its funny you mention the Melbourne Cup, it wouldn't surprise me. The thing is Brady has to stop being this "Fancy Man" and do his business, his "Interpretation" of his management and negotiation skills must come through with a lot of "Positivity". Its just "Absurde" to think that Brady is going to do a terrible deal on draft night, he's going to have "The Map" on the players we like and where they are likely going and the other first round players as well, I know if he gets this wrong he will be in a "Circle of Fire", but trust me, he'll be "Just Fine"!
You see our Brady for some of the negativity which has come his way in recent times, at the draft this year, people will remember him as "Sharp and Smart" and the North faithful in our thoughts will be thinking, we "Trust in you"! Just watch, come draft night, with proposed picks flying everywhere our Brady will be moving at 'Warp Speed' to get the right deal done, because he is "Onesmoothoperator"! In the end, this draft is going to show that Brady is in control and while some opposition posters will reject that theory, I couldn't give a "BuckaROO", because at draft time he is our "Saint George" and by the end of it he'll be our "Valiant King"!![]()

Why? Three first rounders looks good on paper, but it means we could miss out on Armstrong and Tauru. What would the point be?Could still live with 10, 11, 18
Onesmoothoperator to win, big dangers Warp speed and Kovalica. So… put money on…?
Well I saw they didn’t have “Split Pick 2” in the field soOnesmoothoperator to win, big dangers Warp speed and Kovalica.
Yes I can see it now Grand Final day/night some cheap shot expert like a Cornes or Taylor saying why did North give up pick 2It will be Nmfc luck that over the next decade the No 2 will be a Brownlow, AA and Norm Smith winner playing for Richmond, whilst the two we get will be on Love Island and the other Coaching the seconds at Labrador QLD
You know it will happen
Ever since March 2022 every sliver lining at this club turns to rust
Leave it as No 2
You could go a mid @10, KPF@11 and KPB @18? Or 10 & 11 could get you the Whitlock twins or Shanahan and Trainor ..don't think they are 'second-tier' talls? Why? Three first rounders looks good on paper, but it means we could miss out on Armstrong and Tauru. What would the point be?
People complain about 6+18 or 7+15 but if we’re sliding we aren’t going for midfielders, so at least those deals get us a top tier tall and a second tier tall.
10, 11 and 18 might get us three second tier talls.
Do you still think there'd be great value in trading 2 if we can't cash in the Saints F1 for a sub 20 pick this year?I think the best value we are going to get for pick 2 will be Saints Pick 8 plus their F1. That's likely to be two top 10 picks.
I'd do the above trade then use the saints F1 to trade into the back end of this draft.
Trade 1:
Out: Pick 2
In: Pick 8 and Saints F1.
Trade 2:
Out: Saints F1 and our F3
In: GWS pick 16 and GWS F3
Trade 3:
Out: F2 & GWS F3
In: Essendon Pick 28
8: Tauru or Armstrong
16: Jack Whitlock or Jobe Shanahan
28: Oliver Hannaford/Harry Oliver/Jonty Faull/Kayle Gerreyn/Noah Mraz/Harry O'Farrell.
64: River Stevens

Because I think that's a real possibility.
Reckon we would've traded our own F1 if we could get decent value, given the club's comments at the member q and a, and that's a more desirable asset than the Saints F1.
And yet here we are.
GWS haemorrhaged players in the trade season and now they only have 32 on their senior list and 2 rookies for 2025. That's less players than nearly every other team.I think clubs in the later stages of the first round are going to be more than willing to trade for F1's. It makes so much sense especially if you are Richmond or GWS with multiple picks in the range. Even though we've been willing to shop our F1, I don't think we'd give it away for a pick beyond 15 without something coming back, as it's likely going to be a top 5 selection.

Supposedly they are looking at least 2-3 mature DFA’s as well as taking 3 picks in the draft.
Have heard that Ben Paton will be up there in 2025. Parfitt and Carroll are two others that have been linked as well.
I’m tipping they’ll keep a few list spots open and have a heap of mature players train on with them in the pre-season.
They're in poll position to steal a few good VFL players too.Supposedly they are looking at least 2-3 mature DFA’s as well as taking 3 picks in the draft.

For sure we would have!...that said, the way I see it is group players in terms of where you are truly indifferent. If the player we want is available at 6, we are still better off trading 2 for 6, and 18, (and F2 for 23) than just taking our boy at 2. (yes there'll be meltdowns). 6 and 11, probably good chance of Tauru and Armstrong. Maybe the club is indifferent between Armstrong and Shanahan or other key forwards that all have their merits. 6,18,23 could net us Tauru, best available key forward (Shanahan perhaps) and a small forward or a slider (who knows Hotton even).Have a look at the talent available this year and also have a look at the differing opinions as to who will go at what pick. If we are to believe what many are saying, being that there is no stand out pick this year, then who knows, one clubs Pick 2 might be another clubs Pick 6 or maybe even Pick 10.
In my opinion, if we can get Picks 6 and 11 for 2, then we will have won that deal.
We're in poll position to finish the list build this year and then start to move up the ladder.
I'd take Paton for us. Hasn't got a high ceiling but would place pressure on the co-captainSupposedly they are looking at least 2-3 mature DFA’s as well as taking 3 picks in the draft.

Perfect time to go after some free agents.![]()
The same people that want to trade F1 for a couple late picks, will be the same crying when we finish 15-17th next year and don’t have an early pick to show for it.
Except we are 16th choice! Even Tarp City is ahead of us.Perfect time to go after some free agents.
Tbh I'm warming to the idea of not having a first pick next year if it means an extra 2-3 guns this year.
Line in the sand type shit
