850k through the gates for the regular season, not including the 3 washed out games, for an average of 23k (last year was 21.5k including finals). Haters in all sorts.

BBL|14 average attendance for primary venues
Perth (5) - 38,506
AO (5) - 28,593
MCG (4) - 27,938
Gabba (5) - 26,593
SCG (3) - 23,198
Docklands (4) - 22,923
Showgrounds (3) - 13,559
Bellerive (5) - 7475

The two worst grounds remain a long way off the pace, but Hobart will catch up once they get a proper stadium that people want to attend.

Yesterday’s games were both thrilling with all the possible permutations.
I’m not buying it though. Feels a lot like the AFL going into the last round with so many permutations for multiple years running now. Growing up I just can’t remember every year going down to the last game or two of the round.

Are we saying both Sydney teams and 2 sides that haven’t won it before (which includes the biggest Melbourne club) is not the dream scenario for CA and 7/Fox?

What are you suggesting here ?
You genuinely think the outcomes of BBL matches are pre-determined by the broadcaster.

You wouldn’t need much influence to shift a BBL result I wouldn’t think. How do we explain the AFL and now BBL always getting the most profitable finals fixtures?
The world’s just a big conspiracy hey and we’re all just players in the simulation

You naive enough to think huge sporting organisations aren’t trying to maximise profits when broadcasting deals and gambling is all involved?

Everyone has basically accepted the NBA and NFL are fully fixed results at this point and we aren’t far behind with some of ours.

You should contact the Federal Minister for Sport with your concerns

Someone like that would be in on it too lmao. Too much money on the line for their not to be corruption at some point in the pyramid

This is the dumbest shit I have read on this website in some time.

Every conspiracy theory falls apart once you consider all the people that would have to keep their mouths shut for something like this to occur.

You think Hobart hosting the qualifier is the most profitable fixture?

lol

Also, completely incongruous with the fact that the Stars haven't made the finals forever..

The Scorchers miss the finals for one season and their fans bring this out. Amazing.

Funny thing is before I come here to read the thread I new exactly who would be here whining and carrying on about conspiracy theories and they didn’t let me down.

Just letting you know we aren't all bad ok
Agree there are many scorchers fans that have kept a level head.

Scorchers are an awesome franchise with heaps of championships.

They had 1 bad year.

Really missed the rock solid Inglis in the middle order and having Hardie out of form really hurt.

They will be back next year.

You don’t need every physio and ball boy to be in on it. You just need to make moves that swing the percentages in your favour. Fixturing, umpiring, etc

Did you read any of the post? It’s not the most profitable but it’s improving their smallest market significantly. I’ll put my house on a Sixers win on Tuesday followed by the Canes being bundled out so the final is either the Stars or Sydney Smash.

You said the broadcasters pre-determine the results. Fixturing and umpiring is not enough (even if so, what games have been decided by umpiring this season?)

Are players being told to bowl wides, throw matches in your wild fantasy ?

Whoever makes the grand final will be because they deserve it and play the best on the night.

Let’s be realistic it’s a super even comp and any of the 4 teams could win it.

Chill out with the conspiracy nonsense.

When the Scorchers won their titles was any of these fixed?
Wouldn’t put it past them. Especially in the ones where we had chances to sell out Optus in two games.

Early seasons would’ve been alright as it was just getting on its feet but I feel the more commercialised it’s become the less the suits care about the integrity of results and care more about narratives and hype much like the AFL operate.
