Couldn't find anything from the last couple years but a quick google search identifies this. I would say this confirms he isn't slow:
Top five fastest players in 2021

Aliir Aliir 34.54km/h
Ryan Burton 34.49
Connor Rozee 34.42
Mitch Georgiades 34.06
Lachie Jones 33.95

I think you will find that the vast majority of AFL players these days are very quick these days. Definitely not as many plodders like there used to be. The game has got a lot quicker, and all players have had to adapt to that. I just don't think there are many slow players these days and those that are get chewed up and spat out of the system pretty quickly.

Running ability is highly important.

Burtons 34.4 was running away from the ball

With the news about BZT, do we know if Bergman is training with the backs or are we still trying to make him a midfielder
Every report I’ve heard is that he is training with the backs.

We went into this season looking one light in our tall defender stocks - developing and mature depth. Doesn’t take much for that to get tested straight away.

If he learns the trade, he would be an awesome defender. He's got all the tools but needs to learn the basics of defending. I'm hoping for him. Also, he's on a longish deal so if he can't nail down a spot this year, its going to be a long term investment for backup.
A coach who has been a quality defender needs to teach him the concept of team defense. He needs to become far more predictable to his defensive teammates. He also needs to improve his one on one defending. He has size & enuf pace to be successful as a defender but he's 26.5 years old now. I would have been playing Findlayson as a defender all pre-season. He's a smart player with good closing speed & I think he may thrive with a more defined role. It's worth a shot as he's too talented a player to have him on the sidelines.

Are we having an internal trial / match simulation?

Had one last week, planning on one in Opening Round to prepare for their first game.

Nothing exciting from what i remember of him playing for the magpies late last year.

To be fair he was plucked out of local basketball and given a run over 5 quarters in 2 sanfl games before being knocked out in the second game.

Even Harris Andrews would struggle to impress in those circumstances.

TBH, I'm looking forward to this year. Don't think we'll go backwards. I'm hoping Jase can build on last year. I think Lachie Jones needs to step up. I'm excited about what the small forwards have to offer.
Makes 1 of us. We'll be stuck around the same mark. We're no threat but could easily win around 16 games again, and as per the last few years it'd mean nothing. We're far more likely to go backwards, with the rising talent on all the teams around us. Our consistency keeps us winning meaningless games, but when crunch time comes up and X Factor becomes more important than consistency, we will drop away for certain.

We had Dixon and Mcentee playing plenty last year and no SPP. If they select correctly we should still be pretty good.

Bzt going down will be an early test though. Missing Houston I dont think is even a big deal at all. He was just a reciever.

Lol the more I think about how many games Dixon played when he couldnt even walk. So ****ing dumb.

I can only think of three teams with maybe more X factor and another two with equal X factor to us. We also have far more room for growth than most of the teams that were in the top eight last year and just behind Fremantle.

Our Forward line is going to be twice as dangerous as last year with the inclusion of Luko, SPP, Richards, Berry, Lord and more than half a season of Rioli here's hoping anyway.

Our backline has a huge amount of natural improvement with Jones and Sinn taking their development seriously this off season, along with Evans and Bergman improving.

I'm excited to see Burgoynes improvement on the wing . The Horny One and Mitchy G can elevate themselves to AA level and Conner can get back there after a down year last season. Butters doesn't have heaps of room for growth but my god if he grows I'll grow.

Us not making the eight will be a huge disappointment based on talent.

I agree with every word you've written more shocking than the didgeridoo you plonked in my arse
