I'm putting bont in flex, that way I'm more likely to get the best score each week, because he hardly ever has low scores.

Agree 100% unless it’s a full moon then I’d rather have a ruck in the flex position.

In saying that if it’s garbage night I’ll probably look to put in a DPP to make sure I have the entire field covered.

😂

Everyone is over thinking flex way too much. Reading this thread has made me want to claw my eyes out at times.

There is only one strategy with it and that is to put a fourth ruck there or not. If you do, awesome, gives you cover and you'd probably want a R/F DPP at R3 or flex to let you rotate.

Otherwise, do everything as normal and then decide if the next midfield, defence or forward rookie is the best and get them on field (doesn't matter if it's flex or anywhere else).

If you have M/F DPP in one of the lines, then you can swing mids and forwards through there irrespective of whether the flex player is a MID or FWD and irrespective of whether they are DPP themselves.

There will be some using it over the upgrade rounds to plan targets and manage best rookies on field, but we can't predict that stuff now.
I do regret asking WaynesWorld19 as a Moderator to start a thread on this for Strategy discussion.

It has become over complicated and confusing for anyone to find any useful ideas or plans to work this new position and game feature.
Which I do like the concept of.

It is not going to make or break anyones season on what flavour of player you chose.

WaynesWorld19 I will leave it up to you whether to blow this Thread up as this is the place where fun has gone to die.

I think the thread, like most of these types of threads, will naturally burn out

Why a fourth ruck as opposed to any other line??

It's amazing how much it's been over complicated,

100% agreed

Point of my ramblings is that although it feels the flex gives us tons of new ways to play the game, the reality is we do not

Haha 🤣

And no flex rucks unless you think your R3 will outscore your D7, M9 or F7

It's nine pages of much ado about nothing. Waffle, waffle, waffle i'm sad to say. I glance at it but gave up fully reading long ago.

All I look at flex as is to save teams from a player going off injured early and scoring bugger all. eg. Green 5 and there's been plenty of others over the seasons.

It's a new change so at this stage there is no right or wrong way of doing things. It's good that teams will be trying different options. The end of the season is the time for this thread to discuss what worked and what did not.

I say blow it up now. Don't waste any more of anybodies time. :bomb:

I agree.

If you want to see what people are doing with Flex you can now view it in the RMT thread and if you can think for yourself you can make a decision on what to do from that info.

WaynesWorld19 please lock this thread and let it just die.

If people want to read it maybe they could find it in archive. I think enough is enough.

So how does the Flex work again?

We get extra salary to pick an extra player but we only get that players score if they aren't our captain and they don't get injured.

I think.

Nah nah mate.

It’s a secret trade function. You don’t get extra cash but can steal salary cap from other teams to pay for your trades

It’s how the Laker landed Luka in their flex position

My view is that towards the end of the season when my team is super-premo, it'll allow me to put Gawn, Xerri AND DeKoning on field and collect all of the points.

I don't think using it to own an extra ruckman is smart at the beginning though.

There's a dumb number of bargain forward options, owning about 12 of them by putting mid/fwds in the mids and having one in the flex pos is the way to go early I reckon. Which one of them it is, the most expensive or the least inside your best 23, is irrelevant
