The best 4 I've seen.
Greig before my time.
So let's say we did go with a classic wing set up of Flower and Matera.
Who are the 5 midfielders picked (assuming 3 start on field, and 2 on the bench)?

Reckon you could pick GAJ with 4 others from a pool of 12, and you couldn't go wrong.Nice.

It's only 'single handedly' until....BUT did any other supporters see a man single-handedly destroy 3 finals series to take the worst football club of all time to unprecedented greatness?!
How does a 70 gamer make this side ? The numbers just dont stack upA. McLeod ~ S. Silvagni ~ L. Hodge
N. Daicos ~ R. Glendinning ~ T. Stewart
R. Flower ~ G. Williams ~ P. Matera
K. Bartlett ~ W. Carey ~ G. Ablett Snr
L. Matthews ~ T. Lockett ~ L. Franklin
M. Gawn ~ M. Voss ~ G. Ablett Jnr
A. Goodes ~ M. Blight ~ C. Judd - J. Dunstall

Couldn't find a spot for Pendlebury, G. Jakovich, Enright, D. Martin, Dangerfield, P. Moore, P. Daicos, Wanganeen, J. Hird, N. Buckley, S. Madden who were all strongly considered.
Puts N.Daicos in side on HBF.How does a 70 gamer make this side ? The numbers just dont stack up
100% . Plus Hird, plus many others.Puts N.Daicos in side on HBF.
Simultaneously says he can't find space for Corey Enright...

Let's look back on this thread in 10 years time and see how that decision looks.Puts N.Daicos in side on HBF.

I'm not saying it is impossible.Let's look back on this thread in 10 years time and see how that decision looks.
But its a current thread. It's not a look into the future threadLet's look back on this thread in 10 years time and see how that decision looks.
I'm not arguing, and I wouldn't do it for any other player that has been 3 years into his career in all the time I've been watching the game.I'm not saying it is impossible.
At this point in time, Enright has the runs on the board, and Daicos is still catching up.
Just start your own thread relating to your choice of Nick if you are so focused on squeezing him into a team of the decade/ millennium side. But for now, he doesn't belong in this team/ thread.I'm not arguing, and I wouldn't do it for any other player that has been 3 years into his career in all the time I've been watching the game.
But Daicos is a generational player, and I reckon we'll look back on this thread in 10 years time and you guys will be embarrassed that you even asked the question, given what we'd already seen and what he was expected to deliver over his career.
Would you argue if someone tried to put Sheezel on the HBF in their side?I'm not arguing, and I wouldn't do it for any other player that has been 3 years into his career in all the time I've been watching the game.

Regardless of accolades, back flankers need to have had minimum 5+ (10 is better) years in defence. Daicos has had 1.5ish seasons there. He'd need to actually play at half back another few years to even qualify.Would you argue if someone tried to put Sheezel on the HBF in their side?
Stat-wise, Daicos and Sheezel are almost identical.
100% agree with everything you said here.Regardless of accolades, back flankers need to have had minimum 5+ (10 is better) years in defence. Daicos has had 1.5ish seasons there. He'd need to actually play at half back another few years to even qualify.
And yes, that means it's silly to put anyone down until they've had 5 ridiculously high quality (AA level) seasons. In any position.
If Daicos wins big awards the next 3-4 seasons, his name could come up (but for midfield or bench, not defence).
Not at all, it would be their prerogative.Would you argue if someone tried to put Sheezel on the HBF in their side?
Stat-wise, Daicos and Sheezel are almost identical.
I'd have Daicos starting on the HBF, rotating through the midfield, given the best teams have 6 to 7 players regularly rotating through the middle. As far as Daicos vs Enright, Daicos is going to have his entire career from here as a midfielder. He'll need to push a Judd, Ablett, Voss, Williams type out.
Perhaps stick to the thread title.I'd have Daicos starting on the HBF, rotating through the midfield, given the best teams have 6 to 7 players regularly rotating through the middle.
Nonetheless, the only player of that group I'm not confident of Daicos surpassing is GAJ.
Tell me you haven't watched any North Melbourne games in the past 2 years without telling me you haven't watched any North Melbourne games in the past 2 years. Not at all, it would be their prerogative.
But you can't for one minute be suggesting that Sheezel has showed anywhere near in his first two years what Daicos has shown in his first three years, including matchwinning ability?
