Can always reschedule Essendon and Gold Coast to play in the week off before the finals.

Not like they will have to anything to play for at that time of year.

Think they move another game so they share a bye to play the game. E.g.

Round 14 ess vs Geelong moves to round 16
Essendon then plays Gold coast in round 14

Geelong bye swaps from 16 to 14
Essendon a bye swaps from 16 to 14
Gold Coast bye swaps from 14 to 16

How did we do this in COVID when that Melb vs Ess game got postponed. Wasn't that midweek? I can't even remember other than it being an absolute cluster**** SC wise Nelso. I've consigned that era to history.
I have tried to wipe that from my memory.

Unlike Sir Ken, who is always preparing himself to play finals

This is what I said, but Essendon would have to forfeit their Bye. They can't have a Bye in Round 14 if they have to play Gold Coast in Round 14 ;)

There will be a way, I only had a 5 min look.

Irrelevant as everyone will just trade him in that week and captain him as well

But I agree with MT, it won't happen. There's no way the AFLPA will allow players to play 3 games in 7/8/9 days.
They could do a midweek game leading up to a long weekend.

Play Thursday, then a 6 day break to a Wednesday game, then a 5 day break to a Monday game.

Not saying it would happen but it's a possibility

Soooooo. Will the Collingwood vs Giants came move to Thursday or Saturday night instead of a Sunday afternoon, or are we not that nimble as an industry?
No chance of that happening.

Both teams would have been having all of their training schedules in place for the game to be played on Sunday.

Double headers on the Thursday and Monday's? And move whatever game is currently scheduled on that Thursday to another timeslot? Sounds like a nightmare. They'd have to shift about 10 games to make that happen.

And even then, that's 3 games over 11 days but need to factor in the other sides of it. To play Thursday you can't have played on the Sunday prior and if playing on the Monday can't be playing on the Thursday that follows. Could still end up with 5 games over 22 days or something.

Too much of a cluster ****. They'll have to move the Bye rounds in Rounds 12/13/14/15 around, or just play it on the weekend before finals, but the latter unlikely I would have thought.

Change them. No biggy if the decision made today to play Sat night instead of Sunday. They were looking at moving the Bris vs Geel game.

Round 23 the Suns & Bombers play their matches Thursday/Friday night (5-6 day breaks)

Round 24 they play their matches Thursday (6-7 day breaks)

Pre finals bye weekend they play each other Wednesday night (6 days) or Thursday (7 days) and then have either 9 or 10 days if scheduled for the Saturday night if they make finals.

Seems easy to me with the floating fixtures. Make sure round 22 they don’t play Sunday?? Then what’s the problem? Can’t maximise revenue I guess - but reckon you make it back with the pre finals bye match if either the Suns or Essendon are around the 8 which is very possible.

The AFL would be close to imploding if a truck full of pies and sausage rolls headed to the MCG got stuck under the Montague street bridge. You think they can cope with more disruptions/changes?

There is an argument that could be made it would need to be done before league byes for MSD purposes for a fair ladder of all teams having played 11 games.

Good luck fitting it in before round 11 but some will argue that it should.

Just a question. Might be stupid but aren’t we better off having all the players in opening round so we get a good score then just change your team back on Sunday night

SC starts in rd1. Rd0 scores do not count in our teams.

Rd0 scores get counted towards player averages/BEs, but the score itself doesn't count.

If your team has rd0 players in it, you get 1 less game from those players.
