He is exactly the opposite of Perryman.
Also, Perryman is far from being a POD.
Also, I have Perryman.

The way I'm looking at him is hoping he can make $50k+ after Round 3 so 2 price rises and Naicos hopefully cops a tag in his first 3 games and drops to Sub $600k then after Round 3 trade Day > Naicos for bugger all and the bye has been avoided.![]()
I'm bored. Slow day (pun intended). So I ran the numbers.
If Naicos scores....
70 (Bedford tag)
127 (Port, average last 2 years)
147 (WB, average last 2 years)
... he'll be $637k (up $6k) before his bye.
Will Day wil get to approx $558k if he can average 120ish over the next 3 weeks (but will possibly also have the Bedford tag, and maybe even a Hewitt tag).
By then, why would you trade Day? If he's going 120, he stays. HUGE IF though.
Even if you did trade him at this point, it will still cost $80k'ish to do it, so it's only a $60k'ish saving from starting teams for 1 trade used.
That's if Day breaks the tag that Naicos didn't!
-----------------
For me, there's too many variables with tags and the hope Day can maintain a 120 average, all the while death-riding Naicos.
Not worth worrying about avoiding that 1 bye missed for 1 premo score.
I'll be happy saving the trade, and taking a punt on Knevitt on the ground while Daicos sits on the bench.
It's a best 18 round anyway.
IMO Naicos is a MUST start, even with the bye!

It isn't Callaghan. Though he might be a good pick.
I shall not be probed further.
The good thing is, even if he scores well as I expect him to, and is discussed, most folks will talk themselves out of him
At the price Naicos is, with a bye, he is not a must start at all. He might be a fine pick, but he is not outpricing his price by 10 points + the 4 points he needs to be better than the equivalent pick without the bye.I'm bored. Slow day (pun intended). So I ran the numbers.

BAUMeh...
He's a good shout, early bye makes it tough to start, but he could be a wonderful gull.Josh Daicos?

He also has a super tough run for mids.
Kid is an absolute star, but the words "MUST START" get thrown around far too liberally.

He needs to do that to be a must pick that will mean you can't win the comp unless you have him. I don't think he needs to do that to be a "fine pick". Agreed he will be very good and will have some great captain scores.Only IMO of course.
Why does he need to outprice his start price by 10 points? Not all players need to be 'value picks'. I've got plenty of them already.
He's every chance to smash past equivalent pick scores even with they bye. I'm confident he'll do that. Whatever my rookie cover gets will count. Maybe they will smash a ton when subbing in for Round 3, like that Clohesy fella did for me last year when he came on for a premo.
Had a super tough run last year as well (Rich, NM, WC once eg), still manage 117 avg.
Into his fourth year now, and he's only getting better. He'll go 120+ this year.
9 scores over 130 also gives me an outstanding captain choice.
Anyway....I'll shut up. I'm a shit player anyway so don't listen to me.![]()
