I'm sorry, but what is the point if Sonsie at AFL level over McAuliffe? Sonsie has had more than his fair share of chances at AFL level and has proven time and again he is not up to it.

Give McAuliffe a damn game. We need some pace through the middle ffs.

What is the point of Thomson Dow on a wing? Don't tell me Kaleb Smith couldn't do as good of a job at least. Or even Sonsie. Or Ross.

I've liked most of the team selections this year. McAuliffe not bwing selected is the first wrong choice for the year imo.

When Smillie is fit he and McAuliffe are going to be combine for 60 touches and multiple goals in the VFL while we continue watch McIntosh, Dow and co run through our midfield.

I just don't believe Yze is ever going to drop these guys. Loves them too much. We know he's also not doing anything with Hopper, Taranto and Ross so there's no room for these kids

The Fawcett omission is fair for the simple fact he was replacing a suspended Lynch rather than another KPF being dropped for him. He’ll get to go back to the VFL and prove he is worth an AFL call-up. Of course he’ll have to work around the 200 other KPF’s in the VFL.

There are only a few reasons I can think of for the McAuliffe non-selection:

• he’s not quite ready fitness wise
• we don’t want to drop players on one poor game, pretty much everyone performed round 1
• we want to see how McAuliffe and Smillie go as a midfield pairing in the VFL
• we are giving players like Dow a last chance before spending an extended time in the VFL.
• we don’t rate McAuliffe because the Coburg midfielders also did really well and they are one of the bottom VFL teams
• we’re tanking

negative about it is that smillie is possibly playing vfl over the next 2 weeks, and if we're not prepared to bring mcauliffe in after a game like that....

although i guess since it's the start of the season and only 2 games have been played, it's hard to drop a dow/ross/macca. so hopefully if they dish up crap over the next 2 weeks they'll go out

Sonsie dropped after being sub and goes back to vfl (basically so he gets a full game) and picks up 35 touches and 10 clearances, it’s fair of MC to reward that.

I’d prefer McAullife too, but he just goes back this week and smashes a full game of vfl instead of being sub id imagine, which will be better for his fitness.

I'd move Taranto forward and play McAuliffe in the guts.

Decent is his absolute ceiling though. Were the worst side in the competition. Let's get games into kids that might actually be good or even better.
