Allan can play, but he is more work horse, less class.

Think they need him
Pearce on Darcy is at least one of the better match-ups you can get for him.

I cant believe how good.that kid looks. Possibly.the best hands I've EVER seen.

We desperately needed to win and we did. West Coast are very shit but it’ll always be enjoyable to hand them a fat L. But seriously we should have beaten them by 15 goals. They were witches hats for most of the game and we still couldn’t put them away. Can’t waste that many opportunities against better teams.

Clearly more intent today, we were always looking to go forward and weren’t scared to use the corridor, 210-134 kick to handball ratio today which is much better then previous weeks (we were 183-178 against Geelong for reference). Why can’t we back ourselves in like this when we play good teams?

Serong deserved medallist again, NOD and Jackson just about had their best games for Freo, Voss is so close to unlocking it all. And I know we bang on about him but Murphy Reid just has it, imagine how good he’s going to be when he’s got 50-100 games under his belt.

Sharp and Banfield were poor again and the decision to keep playing Worner over Aish is so baffling to me.

It was a nice little win but that game means nothing. The real test is how we fair in the next few games, starting with the Bulldogs next week. Next 5 games are Bulldogs (H), Richmond (A), Melbourne (A), Adelaide (H) and St Kilda (A), we should be looking to go 5-0.

Banfield was ok.

Freddy was utter shit though

I'm sorry but you have to take the game as we watched it. They were horrible. How many Cat 10s did we have that they ****ed on transition? I reckon at least 4 or 5.

We just get destroyed playing like that against anyone decent. Again, there is so so many players playing confused.and below their best. So far, the offseason has been a disaster. Even the fact everything bar the score would make you think we won by 80+ is a negative these days, its not enough.

I am going to enjoy reminding WC peeps about Allan over Reid for a long time though.
Sometimes all it takes is a win to bring the confidence back.

Take the wins as they come. There were a lot of positives out of this game. Bolton is building, Dudley was deadly, Amiss and Treacy are looking ominous, and Voss...Bloody Voss. If he could just kick straight he would be the best key forward in the league.

Not getting carried away here because there is still A LOT of improvement to come. But at least we're tracking in the right way.

also 208cm and still growing (maybe not much more height but he'll fill out, he's only 21)

that's a hard matchup even if he wasn't talented, but he f is

That was a pretty good win for mine, considering how many first choice players we had out.

Not sure why people are bad mouthing Freddie, thought he had a good game.

All of it stemmed from Jackson on Williams in the ruck. The Eagles have massive issues there and will also get slaughtered in defence if McGovern is out for a period of time.

I hate the Eagles more than most

But we need to give our team more credit than we are

The scum did push Brisbane in Brisbane last week
...maybe we should be asking where Brisbane are at instead? They barely showed up last week and have kinda squeaked past Sydney and Geelong who both also aren't exactly their 2024 selves.

I wouldn't read too much into that performance other than West Coast can show up for a half of footy and put teams on notice...something we already knew from last year.

I offer zero credit for today. Today we looked terrible, but better than a spoon contender (or at least the one we played today).

having said all that, Dogs still without Treloar, Bont, JUH

if there was ever a chance to beat them, this is the time to take it

but their depth and kids so good. sigh.

14 disposals. 9 after half time.
In the first half, 5 disposals and 4 turnovers.

When the sting had gone out of the game. He came into it.
One nice goal, one out on the full.

He plays half forward in a team that has poor pressure.
How many tackles did he have?

ZERO.
AGAIN.

HORRIBLE GAME.

So…one good goal does not make a good game

Don't worry though he'll coast on that one good goal through the next 4 games of nothing.

Voss's kicking is horrifc but when Darcy comes back, pleaee, for the love of God, keep Jackson around the ball. He's arrived, his ground ball work is incredible, he just needs a good ruck to.get mid time though.

Simpson to the backline is stage 1 of Snuff saves Freo plan, back the rest in.

Bit too like I thought Caleb goes in dry on those campaigners on the reg

NOD is 3% off having a tear them to pieces game

Jacko , Andy , Cyclone top notch

Bit of growth from Jonno and Raz I thought

Jye and Vossy somewhere between [emoji533] and [emoji90]

Dudley looking like a young Willie Rioli

So glad we won the game, but personally I have found the Derbies to be very boring for the last few years. I prefer the Derbies of old, where there was some biff and more passion shown during play. I also remember on Derby days, just about every second car you met on the roads or freeways had WCE or Freo flags flying from the windows, and the shops showing there support with signs, balloons, flags etc........... it's all sooo lacking in passion nowadays.

I guess since West Coast are a basket case - there's no real heart in it these days. Also with McQuarterpounder as coach - even he said at the presser "it's just another game"... Yeo told him "No it's not"

There's no feeling in it from their end.
