Wrong on all counts, which I could justify with a long winded post but not necessary. Brosnan was drafted in 1999 by the way, and Bassett was on the original list and didnt play until 2001 finals.

Yes, exactly my point. Both were good solid talls who were drafted as key forwards and performed well in that role when given opportunities, but attemps to reshape them into a running flanker ( White) and tagging defender( Salter) effectively killed their careers. And that wasn't Hinkley, hence my assertion that failure to develop talls isn't the sole fault of Hinkley. He's just the continuation of an age old problem.

Salter maybe as he wasn’t overly tall, but no way did we ever try develop White as a flanker.

Watch a few games from around 2006 thru 2008. The plan was to try and morph him into a wing /flank link man. In pretty much the same vein as Cornes did with the bloke you have as your avatar, which effectively killed his career off as well.
