24 touches last week seems alright? I’d rather just see what he can do instead of waste time with McIntosh getting mid minutes. Either Smilie or McAulliffe should be given a run to see what they can do at the level
the touches themselves weren't all great, but he was the best out of a bad bunch. however it was shit windy weather & he's normally a great user of the ball

Last week we had 11/23 on the feild with less than 50 games. 15/23 under 100. Only 2 over 200 games. You hit a point where its detrimental to the development of the young players by having too many inexpereinced guys in.

You gotta see guys like McIntosh for more than just their individual play, we cant just cut more guys like that and bring in another deputant.

I’m with Hicksy on Raso and Mcarthy…I’m keen to have both on our senior list

Surely we take at least one

Toner has something special but has poor skills and general gameplan knowledge. Notably, he has been absent for our two poor losses. I just wonder if he could develop significantly in a professional environment.

Glad someone gets it 💪

I agree with that but I think Short is not worth playing. Broad, lynch, vlastuin, lynch, Taranto, Nank, hopper are still best 22 and leaders. McIntosh is a trier and doesn’t shirk contests too much so probably ok. Short either shirks it or falls over when he fears contact and he doesn’t have other traits we would miss a lot especially now we won’t play finals and can take risks.

Is the point of playing LeFau to have him as a big body when Lynch is unavailable/retied?
That makes sense. Lefau played well last year with Lynch out and no support. Put him in with the kids and I think they will all play better. Wouldn't surprise me if this is Lynch's last year. He seems keen to play but one more injury would break anybody's spirit.

The more I think about it the more I think we need Gray to stay in even with Balta in.

We must man up Barrass, Battle and Sicily.

If we drop Gray we will be 1 tall too few up forward and they will intercept mark with ease.

If we do drop Gray, we may as well kick the ball along the ground for forward 50 entries to ensure they don’t mark it.

It's really weird, but right now I got a stirring in the plums that is saying we're gonna be pretty competitive. I even got on the $9.50 odds. Could be free money.

What about McAuliffe then. McIntosh had 12 disposals last week, for a midfielder that is basically ineffectual. So he is in for his stamina, aggression, a bit of tagging and general chaos. None of those things he is doing overly well. His ball use in close is below average, his defensive work is okay and he has done some good work tagging but nothing like the Saints bloke did to Taranto a few weeks back, wore him like a glove.

Surely McAuliffe deserves a shot in the middle over Mac. His tackling is great, his left foot great, he is quicker and much better over the ball. His one weakness is perhaps he is not a great runner yet, bit neither is Lalor and he is getting a game, why because the positives outweigh the negatives.
