His running is elite. Watch him start inline with the ball at CHF prior to the Stengle goal, where he got out the back of Weitering. Cottrell sprints flat out with Close and is there on the goal line as Stengle kicks the goal.

Or the poor inside 50 entry in the 3rd (to Fogarty?). Cottrell starts in the centre circle and sprints past 10 players to be free in the pocket for what should have been a regulation shot on goal.

His ability to run flat out and cover opposition outlets is very underrated. You'll don't get a stat for closing down a loose player on the fat side but Cottrell does it better than anyone.

Not to mention he's great at lowering his eyes when given time and space to use the footy, and he's technically a great kick (and clutch goal kicker).

Struggles in the contest and prone to the hack kick when under pressure but he's developed into a very solid player.

Crows fans have been awful to us Blues supporters in Adelaide the last couple of seasons. Including a racist granny asking Saad where his bombs were and their drunk supporters coming down from the hill and taunting us and throwing drinks over us.
