Was right behind that kick for the first goal he kicked on the run on the weekend.

Apart from kicking the goal- he made the right choice. He looked inside, summed up the situation and then straightened himself to kick the goal. I think I liked that most of all. It wasn’t a rush of blood just taking the shot from 50 burning off others. He got to 50 and realised he WAS the best option and kicked the goal.

I said in the review chat- better days are coming for us, and it just feels like he is going to play such a role in that.

Would like him to show more in the first halves of games. Seems to do best later once the sting has gone out of it - but to be honest I’ve been avoiding watching most games recently, so what do I know

Similar to Kelly imo in that he looks most natural in space forward of centre - unlike Kelly he nails his shots on goal.

Not sure he is strong enough yet to do the bullocking inside work. Looking forward to watching him after an uninterrupted preseason fingers crossed

couldn't really focus when watching the game yesterday - heard commentators say he was apparently playing more half forward and chopping out in the midfield?

great goal, 6 tackles and 195 metres gained - hes certainly building in the right direction

Not looking back to oscar completly open in the 50. Probably the wrong Side of the line you want to be on :(

He was gassed and had to take the mark on one knee. Sure he made a mistake, but people trying to make out like it was a selfish/mental decision when really it was physical and if it was 10 minutes earlier he would've turned and got it to him.

If he can apply the same level of intensity to winning the ball back as he does to getting snags, then he’ll be a gun. It’s a shame we can’t seem to find a balanced two way mid or three to counterbalance the attacking power of Hewett, Reid, Kelly and Gross.

Is Hough supposed to be that guy?

Eh, I feel like this is a bit of a cop out, but also too much is being made of that moment.

I think back how many secondary marks geelong were able to take once they took a mark inside 50 or around the 50m arc compared to us.

That’s experience and composure. I think in his first year and even early this year composure was Elijah’s bigggest issue, but he has come on in leaps and bounds. It showed itself a couple of times last night .

Not taking the mark on the wing, and turning his back on goals.

I do think “don’t turn your back on goals” Is a pretty fundamental thing when it comes to marking where he was. But overall there was far more to like than not like in his performance last night.

Hall not very defensive tho. I still feel like we are robbing a future AA defender by playing hall in the middle(especially if he is asked to be a defensive mid)
