I feel like Swans fans compared to other clubs' supporters are so fair and level-headed until it comes to Angus Sheldrick and then they just lose their minds for some reason. I really don't get it.
It moved to him after Gould

I guess the way I see it, the "certain other performers" who perform like Sheldrick did last week and are locks in the team, are mostly in Sheldrick's position.

He's not really vying for Jake Lloyd's spot, or Matt Roberts' spot, or Ollie Florent's spot, or Will Hayward's spot, or Corey Warner's spot, or Hayden McLean's spot.

He's vying for Isaac Heeney's spot and James Rowbottom's spot and Chad Warner's spot and James Jordon's spot. These guys are routinely among our best players nearly every week.

And if Mills' comeback is successful, he'll also be vying for the captain and one of our best players' spot.

The midfield might be a dysfunctional mess at times, but it's where many of our best players play. It's just the reality of the situation for Sheldrick really and you see it at a lot of other clubs that have a similar sort of situation in regards to their midfield.

All true.

My melt will come about if he’s made the sub or sacrificed for Adams.

But until an hour before bounce, we won’t know.

I hate extended benches.
I hate the sub rule.

Excuse me for a moment, there’s a cloud drifting by that I need to go yell at.

We haven’t. How many games has he been given in total in his actual position? It’s less than a handful
And how many games in recent times has he grabbed the opportunity and really shown what he's got?
I'm thinking 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 one - last week.
He's been bog average in most appearances, particularly the last two seasons.

It'll be nice just to have our captain out there again, and kudos to Heeney & Rowy for taking the mantle on game day in Mills' absence. IMO neither are really captain material so it was big for them to step up and give it a crack.

Couldn't agree more. No disrespect to Rowy and Heens but we've really lacked on-field leadership this year. Also think it's been a contributing factor in the lack of form from that middle tier of players... the Lloyds, Haywards, Florents, Roberts, Jmac... just nobody to get behind.

Just like Kennedy was under appreciated at the Hawks and then came to the Swans and became a club legend.
Hawks did not see it then either. Neither do you.

Have to say Jewels, Mills was bog average (at best) when he came back in last year.

He’s there on reputation, not performance.

So your comparing Sheldrick with ❤️JPK❤️
I've heard it all now.....

You are aware that AFL is a game of positions?
Played by players of differing abilities and specialities?
you are also aware that player A in the forward half can play back. Releasing player B that can play somewhere else enabling player C to play in the guts.

Current player A+b+C < proposed player changed positions making a better overall side.

Players are versatile.

Again though give him a block let’s say 3 games I’d like four but go 3. After that then let’s make a call.

We have played Paton over him…I repeat Paton! Have you seen how bad he has been?

Okay but I’ll counter this a bit and for the record I’m not saying the bloke is the next Cripps.

What have we got to lose to play him for a month in his position (ruck rover/inside midfielder) and THEN make a call. He was outstanding in the first half last week before plonking the bloke on the bench 2/3 of the second half.

Can we at least find out whether he’s good enough?
Are you saying this didn't happen next Sunday?

Totally agree DQ, bog average is being polite, he was horrid.
My thoughts are more based on the over the top reactions from others on here about Sheldrick this week when we don't even know the final team. If he is sub again, I'll be in agreeance, but for now in my opinion, it's all a bit hyperbolic.
I agree with you about the extended bench btw 😡

Similar upper arm circumference!

But Mrs DQ isn’t quite as lovestruck with Gus as she was with JPK.
I'm with Mrs DQ, there's no one even close to him.

No one ever,

In the history of the world,

Or in the future of the world,

JPK reigns supreme ❤️❤️❤️

Is mills really that much of an inspirational leader??

Never have I seen him say get on my back fellas and win games

Bont , danger , pendles are leaders

**** me I would rather Maynard as a captain

You're right. Still, he does offer a common direction for the group that hasn't been forthcoming under Rowy and Heens.

Did show some good signs in 22 when first skipper though I thought. Was consistently the best in the team
