Joe has plenty going for him. I don't know why playing teenagers early in their first year is necessary. The kid needed to settle into the club. Not everyone has Wingard's natural talent and confidence. I can see Joe being a good winger. Saying that I also believe recruiters use rose coloured glasses when they spot quick, left footers on the field.

He was highly rated by alot of drafters, so if he is a bust then quite a few will have got it wrong.

Maybe lets wait until he’s playing in a side that’s not a big steaming pile of poo before writing him off. No first year player is going to be the difference we need right now.

He seems a decent kick and mark, has pace and agility, yeah he’s a bit small but that’s not stopping Butters. Give him some time he might surprise.

He’s also rocked up at a club meandering through a pointless transition year. It’d be tough going for a first year player because all the people who should be mentoring him are probably more focused on saving their own arses for next year. Not an ideal start.

• Caleb Daniel came second (41 votes) ahead of Petracca with (2) votes
• Andrew McGrath won ahead of Charlie Curnow (4th)
• Sydeny Stack came third ahead of Butters who didn't poll a vote.

Yeah why worry about blowing a first round pick at the onset of a rebuild, because we've got so many of them to spare and everything. Even if Berry doesn't make it we still have young stars Esava Ratugolea, Ivan Soldo and Jack Lukosius to take us through the next decade.

To be fair to him everybody was saying the same RE Sinn and while he will develop into a decent squad bod nothing screams a first AND second for a slightly above average HBF

He's played 6 games in an absolute basket case of a side as a small high half forward

Just give the kid some time, Not every player wll just hit the ground running in their career

Even a player like Bobby Hill only managed 13 games in his first 2 years

Problem is he’s shown nothing, not even a glimpse. Poor field kicking, poor decision making, poor goal kicking, no explosive pace, doesn’t look like a bloke that could take a contested mark. The criticism isn’t unwarranted but I do not believe anyone has written him off completely. Could be a slow burn and turn out to be like Amon. That’s what I see in him. Amon was taken with a pick in the mid forties if I’m not mistaken and took a few years to find his feet.

I am praying that once Carr takes over, he will re-assess where every player is at and what their best positions are because I really do want Berry to succeed but you look at the likes of Murphy Reid etc. playing very well in their first year and you see Berry struggling to find his feet, you can't help but make comparisons.

Karl Among was taken at pick 68 in the 2013 draft. Amon was a great bargain for that pick.

We've seen all of those things from him, he's got a sharp field kick, and he is pretty quick too. We saw in one of the pre season games he absolutely lit it up down the middle of the field.

These are all things that were his noted strengths in the draft, so i dont see how he's just lost everything that made him so appealing

If you really wanted to, you could go to the "highlights" tab on his profile on the AFL app, and you can see small highlight reels of his game

It's not much but it might help you see more of his game in isolation

To me it looks like he works really high up the field as an outlet mark, he's got a good pentrating kick and good evasive skills, looks like more of a wingman so far
