4-7 it is.
Yeah it is. I'd rather be this position than false hope at 7 and 4 which we could easily be and scrape into finals win a game and then get thumped. We probably deserve to be here tbh.

We do. It’s the bottom line of the expected. We didn’t do anything to deserve more.

This considers where players are listed in the official match line-ups.

Dylon Williams and Josh Lai are included because they have been listed as emergencies.

The remaining players have been completely ignored for selection so far.

In a broader sense, Port's continued success did rankle the sanfl and they were always trying ways to blunt us off-field administratively. But we always bounced back and became stronger.

This is what I was after. Thank you.

I would love to know more examples. I've read somewhere that Woodville joining the SANFL in 1964 was an attempt to harm Port's dominance. (Centrals was the other addition.) However, I have no idea whether it's true.

The addition of Woodville and even Centrals because that was an open recruiting area and Port's success made us an attractive option. With Woodville, my recollection is the clubs were split 4-4 and the sanfl chairman had the deciding vote and voted for their inclusion. The sanfl definitely had the deciding vote.

When country zones were introduced, we were given the west coast which was the consistently furthest distance of travel for any club. That we turned it into such a rich recruiting zone is a testament to the huge amount of work we put in and why the club wanted it as part of our AFL academy area. Our roots there are deep and wide and historic.

Have a look at this thread on the SANFL Board for some interesting discussion on the admission of Woodville

And then the great Ken Cunningham used almost the exact same language in regards to Port in the AFL — despite more wins than any other club in the first eleven seasons in the league, and being #2 on the membership tally for each of the first three seasons.

Anyone ever notice how the people on this forum who are constantly derided as “negative” or “doomsayers” have a pretty high strike rate of being proven correct?
All pre-season it had a bad feel about it with what we were losing, but the 'RCG' wearers brought me around to thinking this wouldn't be the year of our slide, but the reality of our clubs position has really come home to roost.

I buy into the Janus theory that we are responsible for the disasters because our energy projection is so strong that we will it into existence and directly influence the players minds from our vibes.

You cost us a dynasty Doc. Damn you and your folded arms!

Woodvile admitted when undeserving, but equally booted out,/forced to merge when I believe they were financially sound, and it was Torrens who were broke.

Incidentally I tend to think the PAFC has now morphed into West Torrens, although admittedly they wouldn't have allowed the same loser coach to be in charge for 13 years.

Yep Woodville were done over badly, that deal was done to save Torrens and because of their media presence at the time it was virtually a takeover.

But Bill Sanders is revered at sanfl HQ.
