Only 4 trades left, so currently just doing Pedlar to Butler. That gives me $116k in the bank and 3 trades left. I'm not overjoyed with my Bergman trade in, and I so badly wanted to shoot Cripps into the sun... but maybe I just let it go... OR I can do Bergman to Rozee (Houston to Rozee)?, or Cripps to JHF and still have 2 trades left for a rainy day! Anyone have an opinion?

ZJohnson -> Liddy
Pedlar -> Mentha
CHall -> Macrae

Givens me this with 4 trades left for the run home. Just whether I want to use 3 trades this week and for Macrae.

Alternative solution is holding Pedlar this week against Tiges, and letting Johnson, Clarke, Hall continue to rise in value before making the final upgrade in a few weeks.

Anyone else giving Mills a wide berth?
Yes; I have been wary of him all year.

That said, I don't have a spot for him. If I was still looking to replace a rookie in my backs then he would be tempting. But I'd still think long and hard about it.

Got him last week. Had enough cash to trade Fonti to him. Not without risk but will be a great trade at that price if he can stay on the park.

I'm getting him in this week for Neale. Shoulda done it last week

I don't think he has that complete give-it-to-me-at-all costs spot like a NWM or a Whitfield or Dale, so yeah, I'm backing on his 5 mark game v. Melbourne being more the norm.
A 96/121 AFLF/SC ratio is uncharted territory as well...

He's probably every bit as much of a bargain as he looks, but with minimal trades I'm banking on a sub 90 average from here even if he plays out the year.

Clarke, Johnson, Carroll > JHF, Liddy, May is mighty tempting.

I don't expect May to last long and it's really not in my best interests to trade playing rookies like Clarke and Johnson when I've got 5 dead spuds (Gray, El-Hawli, Boyd, Boxshall & probably Pedlar - also probably soon to be joined by May & Liddy) on my bench but IDGAF anymore.

I would have 23 keepers + McCarthy and 4 emergency trades itb.

Smart move is probably to fade JHF and replace one of my dead rookies with Butler while retaining Clarke and Johnson but **** it.

I wouldn't be relying on that. He's playing the Hodge role as the general across half back that pushes right up the ground. His use by foot has been elite since he returned too - better than it has ever been. He'll average 90+ from here minimum (more likely 100+) IMO if he stays fit. We got absolutely spanked by Melbourne in his first game in 9 months (he also never looked as fit as he does now last year so 9 months arguably undersells it) after less than a half in the VFL.

That being said, I would be sadly comfortable on relying on him breaking down within the next few weeks if I didn't own him.

Carroll out when he's a warm body making money is annoying (shuffling rookies isn't gonna save your job Vossy).

But Cripps potentially out or at least sick gives me an excuse to boot him which is probably a long time coming.

Carroll to Butler means I can do Cripps to anyone $578,400 or lower. That's centimetre perfect for Serong. Or do I jump on Mills a week late and keep the extra cash?

Any thoughts?

Carrol out is really bloody annoying me for some reason.

I did also note the 68% TOG in that Melbourne game. Thanks for the reply. 👍
