Good win in the end. Adelaide are the kings of getting easy goals. We need to make sure our team defense is much better.
Hope the club goes to the AFL this week to talk about Darcy being tunnelled. Going to get seriously hurt. The umpiring was crap overall, Norf copped some howlers towards the end but we did throughout the night.
Big two weeks ahead, interesting to see if we go with Coffield against one of the bigger Adelaide forwards or bring in either Jones or Buss.

The umpiring was disgraceful in my view. The way they let Darcy get tunnelled and some of the insufficient intent decisions in our favour were also shit. That was a mark to Zurhaar for sure, and there were lots of other crap decisions. The umps had an off night.

Yep. It was as bad an example of umpiring as I can recall.

Im not sure that over the totality of the game that it was in favour of either side.

Something borne out by the free kick that saw us with a whopping 1 more free kick for the game.

In the end it was 19-20 in our favour.

Winning ugly, is still winning. Defence needs rapid improvement though.

Getting Barrass into that defense, when it was mooted he may have been coming to us last year, would have been huge. Bloody Hawthorn, again. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a hell of a lot of improvement to be had at the moment with our current list of defenders. Unless one or both of Walker and Sellwood really impress. I'm dreaming of a coup where Weitering has finally had enough of tragic Carlton and gets on the phone to his manager to "just get me to the Whitten Oval."

Having Buss replace Coffield or Jones back in the side ain't going to make any difference if we don't fix our team defence.

Get the team defence right and Coffield will look like a star.

Zac Dawson was one of the worst one on one defenders to play this century yet he was fine in the Saints side because of how well their team defence was.

1. Duryea is not cooked, he is a burnt out sausage.
2. Chickenman (Poulter) is a spud and I held hope for him. Deeply disappointed.
3 Coffield is poor defensively. Bring back Liam Jones

Our defence was OK second half. North came out breathing fire in the first & Larkey burned us. He was clearly hampered by the knee in the second.

It is what it is. Our players are well organised & pretty much at the best of their ability. Duryea is no longer an attacking force sadly . I'd say we'd blood some young players if we weren't in premiership contention.
