Just feel sorry for my own team. No chance vs the Lions at all.

Expect them to show fight for 12 minutes then capitulate.

Vossy to stab himself with his sword to give us a reprieve. One of those coaches that knows just enough to be extremely dangerous. Or is that me...
The good news is we seem to have fixed our last quarter fade outs

I’m now more interested in watching the youngsters to see how they perform and to an extent what our future might look like.

I’m not expecting anything too dissimilar from our seniors and as a collective for the remainder of the season.

Our team has become way too dysfunctional and now too many injuries.

I can only see a potential rectification after the preseason, provided tge coaching group can work together to identify and fix some of tge glaring issues.

I don’t get the drop TDK thing: If he’s going elsewhere then flog him in the ruck. Bang him up. Don’t give him the chance to prime himself to play for an opposition team next year. Means we likely finish lower and get a better pick for him too. Ease HOK into his career…
Poor take.

Being in the business of physically punishing players because they decide to do what's best for their long term financial benefit is a horrid thing to do, and every player in the AFL, not least within Carlton, would see that. It reflects very poorly on us.

Secondly, it just wouldn't happen that way. We saw the effort he gave last week, he's not going to put himself in a position to get beat up. We're better off not having him on the field as the effort he's going to give is a huge net negative and something we're better off without, culturally as well as for winning.

We aren't in the business of losing for picks anymore, we're in the business of trying to finish in finals and beyond. Setting a culture of punishing players and playing guys who won't give effort in order to get better picks is loser talk. Ask Cripps, or any potential trade target for that matter, how they feel about the team selecting someone intentionally not trying because they want better picks and see what they think of that clubs mindset. No winning player wants to play in a team like that.

I am heading over from Perth tomorrow and will be at the game with my son and the rest of his yr 10 footy team.

Been over in July the last 3 years and have seen 3 wins so lets hope that continues with a big upset.
:thumbsu:

...and by the time the game starts the cold miserable weather you guys sent eastward along the southern states should have gone through to the pacific ocean 🥶

You would hope pride starts to come in to it.

He has been smashed in the press this week, doesn't matter who you are, if your effort and desire gets questioned you should come out firing.

What's he playing for? What's driving him to uphold the highest of standards? The team he's in currently is ultimately on a hiding to nothing, the coach is likely sacked, and he's out the door so there's no building into next season or higher motivation for him.

Pride is easy for a fan to say, but human psychology doesn't work that way. We need something to work for, something to target. Pride comes with a goal, an ambition and accomplishing something. He's already (in theory) received his reward of being a huge contract, so nothing he does now helps him. He has way more to lose by playing hard and getting hurt than he does by avoiding contact and looking meek for a few games.

Vossy's presser ...

I'll admit, I am not a fan of his coaching, but this poor man is broken, you can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice.

If he is getting any sort of threats regarding his coaching and if this is coming from genuine Carlton people, then I am ashamed to be a Carlton person.

If you are not happy with what is happening on the field at the moment and want to cancel your memberships, do it, if you don't want to go to the game, don't.

But please, do not go to the game to boo our players or hurl abuse at coaches or anyone involved in the club, just stay home and yell at the TV if you have to. Find something else to occupy your time.

We are better than this.

Reading posts criticising Crippa simply makes me ashamed .
How any body could be so short-sighted is unbelievable to me.
I know he has a had a quiet year but please....
Yep.....I have been supporting this club since birth...born into a Carlton family that grew up in Elgin St....I have not been any more disappointed with our supporters than until this week. The Cripps bashing on top of all this is mind boggling. Who needs opposition supporters when we eat our own.

Next thing: Campo and Lemmey debuts.

Look, Lions are likely going to belt us. But we need to make a statement or the place will burn down. I love Doc but maybe this is a fitting chance to play a send-off game.

I'd love to drop Charlie after his last month (well, year really). But without H, it'd be baaaad.

Be bold. Play with maximum effort. Try and get some level of pride and integrity back - both as players, a club and maybe us fans, too.
