Beautiful place, can be an absolute prick of a place to fish though. Moodiest fish to ever live in a lake system. Bemm and Coota absolutely rinse it on the fishing front.
all around Lakes is great fishing. I grew up going to the Tambo every year (ask about the Greeks from Melbourne at the Swanny pub), with the occasional journey into the Mitchell and Nicholson. Mitchell River is great fishing, but cant go off the banks. Nicholson much of a muchness.

Tyers is definitely gods country.. have made friends with the locals by giving them peace offerings over the years 🍃 - now am welcomed with open arms 😂

I like his fishing show. Jeremy Cameron has a youtube channel as well, some good fishing on that

Because no one asked for it my reasons for voting NO are thusly:
  1. Why would anyone spend copious amounts of money to sit in a swamp and be ignored by fish? I mean I get it, you're not much of a catch yourself. It stinks. Fish stink. The bait stinks. The boat stinks. You stink and women won't go anywhere near you cos you'd rather catch something that won't talk back. 10 minutes into feels like 3 hours & you’re literally competing with birds & the swift embrace of death and they’re both beating you. Awesome.....
  2. Do you really need another HINGE/TINDER/BUMBLE profile pic with you holding a fish? I mean you already have the HOLY AUSSIE BOGAN TRINITY at your disposal with pics of you 'On the punt' at the Races showing off your only suit holding a beer/'Gratuitous Dog pic' of you in a car holding someone's dog - it's not yours an we know it/'With me Mates' arm around a random with a shit moustache at the pub holding another ****ing beer. The reason you don't show a real hobby or interest is cause it risks feelings. A fish can't hurt you, but feelings can.
  3. My Dad loved fishing......(I will not go into detail)

To sum up; As someone with ADHD/AU, fishing isn’t a pastime, it’s a spiritual attack. It’s asking my brain to sit still, stare at water, and pretend that's fun. That’s not leisure, that’s psychological warfare. Fishing is somehow both boring and stressful. Waiting for something to happen while panicking that it might. If you’re that desperate to be alone, just get divorced or sign up for a North Melbourne membership. Same effect, less bait. Also, if your whole family enjoys fishing together, you’re not bonding, you’re emotionally waterboarding each other.

Thank you.

TLDR: Fishing blows
Congrats on posting the dumbest and most desperate post in this thread.

To those who get the job done on the soft placcies - how? I have more Z-Man softies than I'd like to admit and the species I've managed to catch on either Berkley or Z-Man lures are as follows:

Freshwater: redfin and rainbow trout (the rainbows stocked in suburban lakes during the winter and spring school holidays).

Saltwater: wrasse and toadfish (added the toadfish to my list last weekend while I was in Marlo).

I like fishing. Do a lot around Apollo Bay, targeting bream. Good fun for the kids. Light tackle and the bream put up a good fight.

Stick to the curly tail grub until you gain more confidence - not all plastic profiles attract all fish, the grub does however. The tail does most of the work for you. Work it slow, and by that I mean make sure it hits the bottom every time before giving it a couple of hops. And make sure your jig head isn't too heavy, you want it to glide down the water column not drop like a rock.

I think the Tailor are running in gutters now up here in Qld.
Used to catch them off Elephant Rock and off the beach at Currumbin when I was a kid circa 1974
