Its a waste of time. Getting noses out of joint for a long shot is bad business. Even if we convinced him to come to us, he doesn't get a say.

Why would he come here? He's a Brisbane boy, would walk into a team that is competing, and be set to partner the two AShcroft boys for the next 10 years in the midfield.

Zorko and Neale are almost done, and will be gone in 2 to 3 years time when he's into a full time mid role.

IMO, with Tasmania's upcoming draft concessions in 2026, we just can't afford to be taking chances with this year's draft.

To split, we'd need to be offered a deal where we can still get our man. Pick 5-ish and pick 20-ish would have a better chance of getting up.

If you can't get the man you want with the split, just take him at 2.

Point is that's a massive downgrade from pick 2, a mistake I don't even think our dumb club is capable of making. Which is why I'd take that tweet with a grain of salt.

In 2022. Pick 8 became pick 9 (Ashcroft F/S), and pick 12 became pick 14 (Ashcroft + Fletcher f/s).

In 2025.
- Pick 8 becomes pick 12 (Allen Compo, TDK Compo, Uwland Academy, Annable Academy)

- Pick 12 becomes pick 20 (Allen Compo, TDK Compo, Uwland Academy, Annable Academy, Max King Academy, Patternson Academy, Adnisall academy, Whan NGA)

Ok, so you'd think he would have started slow. Yet looks like he started ok and then has faded away.

Look i don't mind him as Cole replacement but he's nothing special and we shouldn't be giving away anything of value for him.

Never said we should be giving away much for him.

He’s a third year player so who’s to say how he’ll progress over the season after a serious injury. Bowey took his rebounding role while he was injured and after returning McVee’s been playing more of a shutdown role on guys like Jamie Elliott, Higgins and Rankine etc.

Just a bit odd to use stats to assess a young small defender. If you want to go down that route, in 2024 he averaged 71 CD points at age 20, which is more than Hough (a similar player) has averaged in any season including this year after moving into the midfield at age 22.

The issue is Cumming will be gone by 8 (11-12). Same with the other top mids so once again we’re left with Bo Allan, Campbell Chesser, Dan Venables types. Sharp obviously fills a need but 8 (blowing out to at least 11-12) is too much of a slide to get what we desperately need which is more high class mids.

He's being talked up on here.

Twomey has an exceptional record picking the top 10 and 1st round. It is what he does for a job.

If he starts talking up Cummings as a top 10 pick then it likely happens that way. At this point in time he hasn't. Nor have any other commentators / observers and part timers.

There are also other good mids around that pick. Rodriguez obviously.

That depends on what we want. Ideally, we're taking one of the higher rated mids but other than that, all of our needs can be met lower down the order. We'll also likely have another top 5 pick next year and top10 the year or two after.

There aren't many holes to plug now. I can see us taking a more targeted approach from this year.

Don't need Cameron at 31 yrs old.

Cameron is only a go for me IF we are actually keen on CDT for some reason, in which case skip Moyle and get Flanders from GCS.

Either way Moyle or Cameron id still want Flanders, hes a gun and is under-utilised at GCS.

Zorko has been a half back for years now - Coleman should replace him when fit.

Theyve still got Dunkley, McLuggage and Berry who are in their 20s, and then 2x Ashcroft, Fletcher, and Marshall as first round pick mids who want midfield time at some stage.

Say the second Ashcroft replaces Neale, still Fletcher and Marshall fighting for a midfield spot with Annable coming in after.
There is no midfield spot opening up for Annable any time soon.

Barring some disastrous Ashton Moir drop off in form he’ll 100% go top 10 excl. bids and I reckon top 5.

If we took Fred with the best of those picks then I worry who we’d take with the other ones, which will be in the 20s.

Fox Sports now run a random article which is solely based off this blokes one tweet despite writing this themselves..

It's almost like you shouldn't speculate on unsubstantiated rumours from one dickhead tweet during the season on a hypothetical pick trade based solely around a bloke who hasn't even left the club yet.
