Tom14 did say Essington brain - says it all.
Have to LOL tho - to me he is just so so salty about 2001 etc even after all these years.
That being said if you go to pretty much any thread that deals with the assassination of Fitzroy you will find folks still bitter about the way it was handled, the way Carlton acted etc ... hell there are still people who can't stand Campbell's over Glencoe back in 1692 and for that matter over the way Jacob tried to steal Esau's birthright way back in Genesis!

We ourselves remember Eddie for retention allowance fame etc...

It was just mentioned on the Saints Swans telecast that if TDK comes in to the Saints there are a few clubs interested in Max Heath.

Making his senior debut today, looks ok, 1 goal, 1 mark, 7 disposals, 5 tackles at 3 quarter time, OOC this year, 22 years old, 204cm and 97kg.
If TDK doesn't end up going to Sh*t Kilda, do they keep Marshall? I'd imagine so, because I doubt they'd go into a season with Heath as the #1. With Dodson as the ruck in waiting, maybe it is worth making Heath an offer, because here at least Fort and Smith are less tough competition than trying to displace Marshall or TDK. Unless Sh*t Kilda give him assurances they'll play two rucks each game.

Heath is almost 23, he's at the prime age where players break out (as is Smith). If we have both next season, it's like having two horses in the race for the next top ruck. I'd expect one of them to make the #1 spot firmly theirs.

So still no re-signing of Ah Chee or Starc. I suppose we should start preparing for the possibility they are leaving.
Ah Chee who knows, no one seems to be talking about his contract status and he rarely comes up as a trade option. Starc is just going throughthe normal free agency process after focusing on his health and fitness. If he didn't get that concussion against Sydney, I imagine we'd already know if he was staying or leaving

I've got 3 big beefs.

What they did to Fitzroy was unforgivable particularly in the light of what they've done since.

Bitter Eddie got in the ear of the AFL bigwigs and that was the end of any recovery from our golden years.

And the Prelim final in Melbourne fiasco cost us a 4peat.

No way I ever get over any of those.

If we loose any forward Linc come in if he comes back well
We miss his defensive in the forward line at times now.
It allow Charlie to me more attacking.
i think he could replace any of our small forwards in an injury

heaps of big game experience

crafty player

would likely get the nod over mclachlan

would also be a sub chance

needs to look good in 2s though

can't afford any setbacks from here though

and doedee is not a good recent example of double knee form

Can't see Linc getting a game this season, if he does it means we have had too many players injured. :(
Linc playing this year is a bit of a pipedream imo but full credit to him for the effort he's put in to get to this stage and give the boys some inspiration.

I hope we don't go the Docherty back for a final route.

You'd think that'd be a last resort.

I think Starce and Dev will be the only ones who choose to go, unless the club wants to delist a Tunstill or Lester retires.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Ah Chee purchased a home here, so unless he's going back to the Suns, I think he's a pretty good chance to stay.

So if you guys nab Draper, which like looks likely at this point, that might hold him back?
Yeah, Smith will probably go to Fort's role in 2027, if he remains at the Lions, behind Draper, O'Brien, or whoever our #1 Ruck is next year when Oscar retires later this year

Starc needs to be careful. He's one bad headknock away from potentially being retired. Did anyone watch the Carlton game where his head bounced off the turf after a tackle? He went down for a moment holding his head, before he got up again. I don't want to say it, because I hope he has a long career and he's one of our best players, but he seems like a ticking time bomb to me. Maybe saying that, the club are being careful as well and offering him less years than he would like.
