Autopsy Clutch Win at the MCG, Freo Down the Pies

Woke up very early to watch this one from overseas and it was well worth it!
Great fight shown to dig out the result away from home against the odds. The last few minutes will be very valuable for the players going forward you can’t replicate that type of pressure in training. The value of kicking straight was on full display for all to see there - probably not realistic to sustain that level of accuracy in every game but we barely missed a set shot all game. Straight kicking leaves you in every single game, on the other hand they let us off the hook a few times, in particular Elliott with that 4th quarter miss that for all money I was certain he’d kick.
The effect from all players was fantastic and JL and his coaching team deserve plenty of plaudits this week. Voss is a genuine gun now and needs to be re contracted soon as other clubs will come hard for him. We certainly won’t get away with paying him $110k plus matchies in 2026 anyway

JL in the press afterwards said they would have brought youngy on earlier but couldn't decide who to sub! I find that pretty wild!

He also begrudgingly conceded that having pressure for spots was good for the team because he knows he's going to have some tough conversations over the next couple months and some guys that deserve to play will miss, he cares alot about this group and you can see now that it's reciprocated by the players.

Such a ****ing sore loser

He is confirming what I've thought for a while. We have two distinct game modes, and switch into attack mode when we need to. I think it is an energy conservation thing as we travel every other week, and it increases recovery times. We played 3 dour quarters and 1 aggro quarter against both the Hawks and the Pies. In other games we have switched it up for 10 minute stretches to break teams before switching it back. McRae thinks we should play this way all the time, and if we only left our home state 3 times a year, we probably could, but that isn't a luxury afforded to us.

I didn't sense gritted teeth from him, thought he was quite graceful in his analysis which surprised me.

It was pretty harmless. As much as I despise Collingwood, I really like Fly.

I'm sorry toto95 but please grab the nearest bar of Imperial Leather and give that mouth of yours a good scrub.

just give us the kudos we deserve without the backhanded shit,

we should play however gets us the win
He landed in the cushiest job in footy, with a team full of hardened vets and plays 2 of his last 14 games this season outside of Melbourne. He can get fuqqed, telling us how to play.

Perhaps the way we are playing is working just fine on current form.

Our luck changed. When JOM kicked his goal and it bounced through, knowing our luck because Maynard was adamant that he touched it, thought they would go to review and it would get overturned to a point 😅

I know, I know. I wish I hated him. But I do think he is a very respectful and caring coach. That's the only good thing I'll say about that club.

How good is it to have a key forward with personality, flair and mongrel that kicks goals. Also the fact that Voss is super quick and can tag a KPD out of a game just makes our forwardline so much more dynamic. The people saying that Sturt needs to take his place when he's fit need to be locked in a room with Voss for a few mins after a couple of red bulls.
