Crows firing on all fronts..
yet most showdowns are a close affair.
maybe not this time

It will be a smashing, margin only dictated by the weather leading in
Up to 60-70mm of rain in the days up to first bounce

It's a get it done kind of game from Adelaide, and a good test to make sure we're not drinking our own bathwater.

As much as I can say "Port are going to put up a fight", they're 11th with one of the worst profiles in the league. Treat them with respect and they'll be worn down. Mind you, when the shoes were on the other foot a few years ago, these were the games Port struggled in.

congrats to Travis Boak in game #383 and moves to 7th in the all time game list.
huge personal achievement

"I won't miss Showdowns. As much as everyone says they're good for the state, they're not good for the coaches, and perhaps the players, it puts the heat on, and we look forward to one last crack.''

How could we ever win a prelim when Ken doesn't even want to play these games........

Ken was never the right fit at Alberton, loser talk and excuses.

Yeah, that's uhh something.

I disagree though, perfect fit for Port Adelaide and it's a damn shame Kenny isn't getting another decade.

Geez I'm so pumped up. Such an inspiring speech by a Greyhound dog trainer.

Ken is simply here to collect his payslip.
It's almost like he is on long service leave.

Never seen him looking so relaxed.

Wet weather should make it closer.

History tells us that the teams place on the ladder means nothing when it comes to showdown results. If the crows come in complacent, expecting a guaranteed win, I'd predict that they're going to lose hard.

A team that can't win showdowns can't win a premiership. The Crows need to come out firing from the first bounce to confirm they're contenders.

Not sure this is the place to post this, but I think I've stumbled upon the main reason why the succession plan with Ken and Josh Carr was doomed.. There has been so much debate and I knew it felt wrong but couldn't put my finger on it.. until now.

Kenny was speaking this week saying this and that about the importance of Showdowns etc. and then Assistant coach Hartlett comes out when asked about playing for Kens last showdown and says, "you know Kenny, he doesn't want the game to be about him."

BUT, Having a succession plan means whether you like it or not, eventually, everything will boil down to Kenny's last time doing, well, everything. Coaching at the G, coaching a Showdown, Coaching a home game, Coaching a final, or whatever was bound to happen this year..

So the problem is, the players have this extra thing in the back of their mind. It's a distraction, pure and simple. And there was no need to do it publicly and invite the scrutiny. So, I think this is the last time we will see a club go down this path. It's not good for anybody.
