Like cricket with the umpires the best rugby referees are English but they couldn't appoint one as they would be accused of bias.

I wasn't impressed with the French ref, too whistle happy and I had no idea what some of his penalties were for, it was a lottery.

At least he was consistent, paying confusing penalties both ways.

LOL French refs cheat again.

He's Italian. There's always going to be disputable calls. Skelton could have got a yellow from a late hit after the whistle. An advantage that is brought back after 9 phases and 40 metres gained is unusual. The ref got in the way of the Lion's defenders for Gordon's try. Tizzano did a massive flop trying to win a penalty before the final Lions try.
