I haven't paid that much attention to it. I asked Fagan about it years ago. Said it was an MCG request we always put in because we'd always ask to maximize how much we played there.
2013-2017 we played them 5 times in a row at the G

Early days I imagine we played a lot of games at Princess Park

But sure, every administration has begged for games at the MCG

Yeah saints throwing money everywhere except NAS
It was really interesting reading what was available around the "Code Sport" articles a week or so back

What most us average punters saw was there were 3 clubs that were difficult to deal with .. Essendon, Power and St Kilda

There was quite a bit more nuance to the series of articles that most of us didn't read or care about (get in here ams4crows )

What most people missed was that the article was nothing about trading

It was about dealing with players and their contracts. There was quite a bit of talk about how different clubs valued their players. And some clubs were more egalitarian than others

Basically, what it told us was the power value their top players and pay them a fortune, and pay everyone else SFA

The Bulldogs do my head in - world beaters one week, shit the next. Yet another example that anyone can beat anyone on their day this year. What other years were like that?

1993
1997
1998
True .. do we throw GWS into that mix as well?

Absolutely. Not just week to week but quarter to quarter. The media were seduced by that 3rd quarter last week and ignored how shit they were in the first half. Seems that first half was more indicative of their form.

When youre a side who relies on talent, and that talent doesn't show up consistently there's always a danger that nights like that happen.

Kingsley is an awful coach, and he caught the dogs on a night where they'd have beaten anyone.

Dogs will end up on 14 wins and could still easily miss the 8, play Freo at home in the final round. Whoever loses that will probably miss IMO

Bulldogs managed to smash them on the turnovers with 74 points from that source. That was the same thing we did to them, kicking 11.8 (also 74 points) from turnovers, but restricted the Bulldogs to 27 points from that source. They do their biggest damage scoring from clearances, which is where they got us. They're a league best there, we're just above the AFL average, GWS are below the AFL average, so you gotta be able to hit them elsewhere in those scenarios. We did, GWS didn't.
