For the first time since 2008 a players has done this. He shoukd get it with some cannon fodder to come in the next few weeks. Geelong will have at least 5 games remaining this season maybe 6 possibly 7. I hope he gets it and think he will.

Thoughts?

He needs 26, not 25.

Also people are changing the goal posts here (no pun intended), the ton's significance is when it's achieved in the H&A season.

Doing it in finals means nothing, just as with the Brownlow.

To bring in finals is to give him an out for not being good enough to do it in the season. No need to pervert history just for our amusement.
Bullshit.a ton is a ton. If he gets it it's an incredible achievement. 100 these days is like 150 in the old days.

No, that's the Coleman Medal.
Are you saying that Pratt and Hudson didn't kick 150?

Goals have always been counted for finals.

Somebody better tell those Saints fans that ran out when Gehrig got his ton in the prelim final.

Ironically, this changed when Lloyd got his in finals. Essendon started moving the goalposts

Regardless of anything else, the gap between 75 and 100 is 25, not 26.

Go back and tell that to the crowd in the 04 prelim please...

I guess poor old matty lloyd never kicked the ton then. In a much easier era to do so as well

Im amazed no-one has tried he has an extra H/A game vs Buddy, Gablett etc. who had an extra 4 H/A games more than Coventry....

Kicking a 100 goals is special full stop.

According to this https://www.afl.com.au/news/772255/centurions-podcast-listen-to-the-legends-who-kicked-the-ton 28 players have cracked a ton and according to afltables 13,257 have played in the AFL/VFL so basically 0.2% have done it.

However from 1968 to 1998 you had a golden era for goal kickers so to defend/elevate that era especially from 98-08 doing it in the H/A is seen as the elite of the elite.

Does it really matter? Honestly no but if you want to create a VIP section in an exclusive club who am I to judge.

Fair enough you guys convinced me, 100 is 100. Still a little skewed considering some forwards don't get the extra games in finals when their sides are too shit to make it but whatever. Also in regards to the calculation I thought he kicked 5 not 6.

He still won't make it to 100 anyway.

I don't think having potentially less games is the main thing holding back forwards in shit teams from kicking 100
