I don't believe anything coming out of the #blumor thread but the idea that West Coast would ask for assistance after realising trading in 30 year olds and failing to stockpile talent ONLY to trade in 31 year old Cripps who will retire before their list becomes any good is very funny

AFL will come in to assist here. Eagles will get a couple of end of first rounders. This year and next, but they must be used to bring in established players.

Cripps will go to Eagles for the handout. Eagles get an established big body midfielder and Blues get compensated all out of thin air.

It’s not completely out of the realms of possibilities. If Cripps does demand out, I’d even suggest it’s odds on to happen this way.

TIL. You know all this time and I never once even questioned if they were related and just assumed they had the same surname.

I work with someone from the same farming region. I also donned the boots for their team in Supers/masters country carnival. There were a couple more Cripps running around in the team and they all go alright. I can find out the specific relation but they are definitely related.

The only way I'd want Cripps coming to Freo is if it's widely known that Carlton are clearing cap space to retain Curnow and TDK - I want them to practically give him away like the Hawks did with Mitchell and Lewis.

Carlton would only let him go to spend his salary elsewhere and that's not something I want Fremantle facilitating with excess draft picks. He had the chance to move home for his wife's mental health when he was out of contract and a free agent, he talked with WC then, but Carlton paid him a fortune to stay - so now they are running short of cash for the sort of deals thrown in front of their other players.

The only way I'd want to part with even a first round pick is if they are paying half his salary.

Cripps is a smug prick but he is exactly what our midfield needs. 2 or 3 years of him being our inside bull would be too good to pass up. But it'll never happen.

Agree with Carlton covering half the salary, and IF we are to be a ruthless club and fair dinkum about winning a premiership- we must entertain all possibilities to strengthen the B22 team and the list.
Cripps can’t go to West Coast, Harly money will close that off, and if he moves it will be for succcess….
We want success and a P Cripps - 3 votes protecting and supporting Serong and Brayshaw for 2-3 years is a no brainer.

Even go after Neale or someone who is a damaging midfielder….

Let's be fair Fyfe used to get a fair amount of latitude at his peak with htb calls.
