Everyone thinks the circle jerk is going on in the car park at Linton St.

It's actually going on among all the media organisations lapping up the St Kilda speculation for hits and traffic.

Someone on Facebook made a good point re Reid, which is that if we signed him for 12 years, it would be on a back-ended deal. With caps likely to go way up again before the end of that time.

And extrapolating that out further, TDK would presumably be on a front-ended deal.

So TDK’s starts out really big and steadily decreases over 7 years, while Harley’s starts out smaller and steadily increases, especially once TDK is off the books completely, or on a much lower deal.

We asked for him to come back pre sos when Ross first got here and he apparently didn’t want a bar of the place until we could prove we weren’t a rabble.

With all due respect, I don’t think this is someone we should be discouraging from posting on here, just because of something as inconsequential as that.

100% disagree. He posted in reply to my post as if I had commented on Cerra which I 100% did not

I queried him on why he was quoting me. He replied that he could not be stuffed to quote accurately.

Hence my second reply that if he did not have the time to quote a poster accurately on this board, that he should not do so at all.



If you quote a poster, you need to reference what they posted and not unrelated material.

If you want to make an unrelated post, then do not quote a poster and just make a separate post. It really is not that hard to do.

I broadly agree but also we have to expect that question given the sheer volume of shit getting thrown at the moment.

I just think it’s a special moment for the kid and we can keep it above board and not try and find a story.

And somehow I never would have equated the word “bemused” with Cal Wilkie who seems to be a pretty straight fits, smart guy.

I’d be more surprised if it wasn’t true. Especially since he’s a numbers guy.

He’s probably taken less than he could have to re-sign with us, so if we’re now looking to get in a guy who’s miles off his quality, for maybe even more than he’s on, and we’re looking to bring in a 26yo who’s never made an AA team, on considerably more than twice his wage, it would be hard to not be bemused, at the very least.

Ralph also reported today that a rival club had told him he could “write his own cheque”, so I think we’ll have to re-negotiate a new deal for him here.

Like what Essendon did with Merrett, after we offered him millions more to leave. Or Collingwood did with Hill, who was being underpaid, etc.

He was living close to Hampton before Christmas,not sure since then.

Port must be getting really desperate to have Rucci make such a blatantly obvious attempt to make us seem like we’re in disarray.

I was losing a lot of confidence in Nas staying, but what Ralph said in today’s article- that we’re still negotiating on price/contract with Nas, and that talks haven’t been put on hold- which is the really bad sign- is very promising.

And Port pulling such a desperate move like this is as well.

I’m sure if Cal is that bemused we’ll re-negotiate him onto a bigger and longer deal, and hopefully we’ll get there with Windy.

Not fussed if Steele and/or Marshall go, as we’re not in the window next year and I’d prefer we prioritise the younger guys we need to have playing midfield (Nas if he stays, Pou, Garcia, Hall, Windy if here, Box, etc) and ruck or forward (Dodson, Keeler, Tauru, Heath).

Fascinating news re Reid.

THE_GUN was the one that told us way back in the offseason that we’d put a monster offer to TDK (well before it was broken by the media) and he also told us in May that we were doing a lot of work on Reid, so he’s clearly got a seriously good source at the club.

Well, we dont HAVE to, that sort of seems to be part of the media narrative though. SoS dont negotiate, communicate or placate.

If we genuinely havent spoken to the leadership group about incoming players then SoS should go, cant imagine thats the case though.

That was the counter offer from Reid's manager that was reported , I dont have that info and just read it in the media
The StKilda interest was very very real in may when i posted it and didnt want go into too much detail at the time as it seemed like a long shot and would have been shot down like i did last night on here but it went over 2 days of meetings and all smiles at the end and both parties were happy with where they were.
I didnt hear the amount being $25 mil and doubt it was that much at the time and looks like its increased since

My post did have reference to what i quoted but not at the start but towards the backend
Which i explained to you on the 2nd post.

Now regarding the 'cant be stuffed part ' Maybe explain it accurately in context
