Tom Morris is not as important as he thinks he is - made Ross' comments all about him and became all defensive. Ross handled him and Rucci beautifully. was not aggressive to Morris but summed it up well

Pains me to say it but our club probably owes Eddie a decent sized thank you. It felt like Ed was there to act as the interviewer and referee letting it all happen on Ross' terms.

Ross would look unprofessional if he came out and said what Ed said about Nas - but if Eds comments/source isn't from Ross himself I'd be shocked.

I'm torn on Windy. His improvement has been huge, can now find the footy consistently, runs great patterns and executes his skills. He isn't an $800k player, but he is a heart and soul type. This is what happens when you offer that kind of coin to Leek. I'd be pretty flat if our equal best NGA player walks.
Eddie's old school, proper journalism training come out in that moment. He knew who he had next to him and the story was in Ross being able to speak on the rumours circulating.

Tom Morris wanted to insert himself and make it about him like many of today's journo's tend to do.

When talking about the NAS ‘problem’ he also mentions Phillipou - indicating he his contract is also not close/could leave.
Phillipou is contracted for another year and his manager has already said hes doing a four year extension.

talk about people picking up stones then jumping at the shadows underneath them....

Ignoring the fact that others get to smooth it out over a long contract. But Nas wants to lock in $2m pa with us

So what. It’s worth every cent and if he doesn’t perform we are protected by a short contract. He’ll make that money back 10 fold. Lets us have him for another couple where his value probably rises by a lot if he’s close to brownlows and awards. If we are going well and he settles he might sign on for less to stay part of something

Thought it was interesting how Ross casually dropped the idea that Port might want to destabilise us.

An indicator that Nas negotiations arent going well on Port's end?
He also followed it up directly with that this was happening with Collingwood in recent days …. Then they announced Cameron was staying.

So ill preface this by saying im dont for a second think anyone gives a shit what i think.

I like Ross, i support what hes doing and i think hes a good coach who galvanises a playing list. I also think hes not the wunderkind supercoach some do. I think people put me in the pants pissing brigade when in reality i quite like where the list is at and can see the vision.

He was magnificent last night. He took the right shots at the right time, they were funny while still having a nasty little edge to them. He was open about what he could (and should) be and he sort of said nothing by saying enough.

Wilkie concern seems to stem from the core kid(s) not getting deals, which frankly is exactly what i suspect from a guy and a leader like Wilkie. Roma and Steele will be at the saints next year unless it works for them not to be (FWIW still think Roma goes). I dont think were any closer to Nas one way or the other, you can froth Eddies comments if you like but i dont think any needle moved anywhere last night but i do maintain confidence the clubs not ****ing him around. Windy... who knows, in the fullness of time.

It was a top shelf media performance from a coach who knows how to perform in that space, full credit to him.

Well after all the Ho Ha about Ross the Toss being on talking Sh1t last night i thought the worlds problems would have been solved , well that was until i logged in here to see nothing has changed , lets face it folks nothing is going to change until after the last game of the season , that a given

Take it too the bank
Lock it in
And can go any club
Signed
Flamingo

I’d be very happy with that. I don’t give a **** about TDK and Aleer. Just lock away our guys first then knock yourself out. Just don’t do anything stupid.

plus the context of him mentioning Pou was him being an interstate lad that needs similar work to nas. Not a kid that is a flight risk.

That is Lyon at his best. Bringing the media along while saying what needs to be said. He’s a perfect footy director or manager. Ideally we stack under him with good coaches. Let them cobble while he sells the shoes.
