Perspective - which team in the Top 8 does NOT think Pies are a threat again after tonight’s performance.?
So it's been done before.
Looks like our current game plan is taken from the AFLW. Get ball, and just long bomb it inside F50 in hope!!

As defensive intercept, yes. He always tend to do well marking.Cameron played pretty well
You mean the short thrown in that should of been bought back to do again? As defensive intercept, yes. He always tend to do well marking.
But he didn't do well actually being a ruck on hit outs and tackling. He costed a goal by tippy toeing a short throw in where Peatling got a clean look at a goal..... also doesn't won many ruck contests. But yes, as a defensive intercept marker he was good.
Nick was BOG easily
Melbourne has a glaring hole in the offense side of the game. The same was said about Melbourne.
They never tidied it up.
We don't have fire power offensively at the moment, and our backline has been a major issue the past 5 weeks. They were better last night, though...Melbourne has a glaring hole in the offense side of the game.
They get a key forward and they turn things around quickly. They have great defensive strategy but lack enough fire power against lots of teams.
Pies have both fire power with their multiple goal kickers and has a similar defensive structure Melbourne has.

Agree. Yep we played much better and that's great to see.Anyone else feeling a bit numb over the loss last night and the possibility season 2025 is slipping away along with any good chance we had of winning another flag? Or is it just me.
Isn’t the answer pretty obvious? Fly either doesn’t think Allan is very impactful or doesn't yet trust him to not make a costly error when the game is in the balance.I agree with all those who think it was a really bad error to delay the substitution of Allan into the game so late.
With Adelaide flooding, we needed to try something different.
Also, surely we wanted to see what Ed Allan potentially could offer - even just as a sub - going into finals. We have no clue whatsoever after this game.
With McStay struggling so much, why wasn't a call made far earlier?
Adelaide were playing in a way that their talls were not going to hurt us. They were intent on smothering us in an asphyxiating forward flood.
So the failure to make a decision on the sub seems quite inexplicable to me.

Definately. Who could imagine 6 weeks ago we are now relying on other results just to make the top 4. Also the likely scenario of Hawks in an Elimination final.Anyone else feeling a bit numb over the loss last night and the possibility season 2025 is slipping away along with any good chance we had of winning another flag? Missed the game. Have only read 5 pages but have to say the pea hearts are out in force.
Simple facts
- held the most potent fwd line in the game, to 59 points ie defence is back
- had 34 more I50’s - that will give Nicks nightmares because he knows they got out jail.
- smashed them in clearances and tackles so our pressure game is back.
So to all the doomsayers- which team has the most upside?
Which team wins this game 9/10 with such field position dominance?
In a return match which team do you think will have no fear?
"No, I thought that was about the right margin. The kick on the siren helped. I thought we had dominance and the game was a bit different when it wasn't wet. We could move the ball, change the angles, you could mark the ball a bit easier. We started well. We needed to though, we needed to. We worked all week. I was really proud of our coaches [of] putting some things in front of the players [because] it wasn't good enough for us around our system and around our effort. It was really pleasing we can turn it around. Have we got more work to do? Absolutely, but again I think we're heading in the right direction".
He was clearly concussed. Both McStay and Elliott will be suspended for 3 games each. How was it not HTB on Smith at CHF with a minute to go, tackled by Elliott then held it in with no attempt to get it out with McStay and Elliott both with a hand on him?
He’s exactly what we’ve missed for weeksNot much discussion about Will Parker.
I thought his game was solid for a young kid who hasn't played AFL in a while.
I really liked the aggressive kick he went for in the 3rd(?). He took it upon himself to try something different after a long sequence of wasted entries.
