Well there’s two ways it goes from here, spurs you on to get better or totally falls apart… given everything going on around the team I know what I’d be putting at shorter odds.

At least in the last quarter they got Hatchard out the way and they started to look semi competent around the ball and got some territory dominance like their game plan is totally reliant upon. Unfortunately when they do get territory it just ends up in the Forward Abyss.

[copy and paste] Slow all over the ground, flat footed at stoppage, hardly any two-way running and can’t convert inside 50s or shots on goal. [copy and paste]

Score aside it was the mirror image of last night's game.

St Kilda very efficient going inside 50, we were garbage.

Promising signs from Jones, and Kelly looked in good form. Ewings has all the talent in the world, a supreme footy brain.... but she needs to add workrate.

Rasheed is going to be a special player.

Sorry, haven’t read all of this thread or following news about the girls, but what is Chelsea Randall doing in Bali?
She is the wedding celebrant at her brothers wedding. Bit inconsiderate of the brother to have it during his sister's opening game, especially considering how important a player she is, but it is what it is. Randall alone, wouldn't have saved that performance. Might've inspired though.

Only a few players can hold their heads high after that performance. Rasheed, quality debut. Marinoff still quality. Biddell and Prowse pretty good. Newman decent. Munyard good until she went off. Jones quality. Gould did her best.

That had 2020 vibes to me. It feels like this side is going to need to reinvent itself again if it wants to become a serious threat, or even a finals contender going forward. Hopefully we use this season as an opportunity to try some new things/players out, rather than chasing dragons.

Weddings are organised well in advance of a footy season.

What if they were 3-time premiership captains and in their mid-30s? Then maybe?
Yeh, but can you imagine telling your best player or most important employee that they can't have an important family day off? It would never happen in the work place because some things are more important.

Which ones? Hatchard, and...?
Ok Hatchard and Jones ( ok has a slight excuse but Milera etc etc etc come back from major injury nowhere well over previous levels ).
How would they let Hatchard one of their highest paid players come back in that shape.
How about Biddell and Ponter as both couldn't run out of their own shadow and had turning speed of a tractor trying to get to a player or ball.
Ewings is another discussion .
Understand have to be sensitive here but they are representing a AFL Football Club.
