The typical afl will just apply a random formula at their own discretion to come up with the punishment.

Not sure how there are varying degrees of it though. Based on precedence and the fact the punishments seem to be trending more severe each time it’s happened, his season should be done.

First time it is a big name player and we know the afl love to make examples of their good social conscious on players with fewer capabilities than someone like Rankine. This will go away with that big broom & carpet the afl keep.
