Right move, been calling for it for months. Will allow us to play parker in the side, which should also allow pez and jaicos to have increased midfield minutes .

Parker actually allowed quaynor to play more as the rebounder which really worked for us.
Parker will probably be the sub to make way for Howe.

Actually would prefer if we start with parker. Would sub lipinski, he has really fallen off after coming back into the side.
Agree with this. If Parker in the starting 22 means Houston and Josh can play further up the ground then sign me up.

Parker's pressure compared to Lipinski's at the moment is better, so he gets the nod based on that. We need to suffocate the Dees on Friday.

No Bobby isn’t here
That confirms he is done for the remainder of our season.
I thought we were going to be rather quiet in the off-season trade space, but l'm now thinking we could be one of the major players!!
It's been sad to see how this season has panned out for Bobby, but all we can wish for is his well being and happiness, wherever that may be.....

Well if he can string 2 consistent weeks of training, then you would bring him in .

Unfortunately Cox doesn't bring the ball to ground anymore. He gets bodied out of every contest and doesn't get his hands on the ball. It's just wishful thinking these days. Against Port Melbourne, their ruckman and Cox didn't even match each other up around the ground, they just run around by themselves without accountability. I'd love for Cox to come in and be that target but he just offers nothing. Side's have been flooding heavily against us.
Have to admit I’ve been weighing up whether to bring Coxy in to the side. This is mainly because McStay has been having little influence on games and Cox is still a decent second ruck option in comparison. I don’t think we lose much or gain much either way really. Dan needs to assert himself more though.

Dan has been painful to watch. I think we'll just keep going with the 3 MMM's unless Cameron gets injured.

Ladder predictor agrees
We need to win by 40 ish and hope suns don’t win both by 40-50

The Suns will demolish the Dons by 80+ in that final game.

Our best bet is firstly to win, and hopefully by 10 goals. Then we hope the Hawks have a small win or that the Power show up for Kenny and win or go down in a close one against the Suns.

End of the day, we beat Melbourne by 70+ points, gold coast has to beat port (away) and essendon (5-day break after travelling) by a combined 135 points.

We'll win it from 8th if we have to. We're going to be hard to beat in finals, I can feel it in my bones
Im pinning my hopes on Fly saying judge us on the long game and hoping we may unleash something different in finals.

Fly has shown in the past we are there to win finals. So I am still confident he has something up his sleeve.

Go Pies

That’s it. We can either be positive and live with hope or be sad campaigners that are negative about everything. Saturday was a major step forward from the previous month so this Friday will tell us a lot

Bang on! Bring that same intensity on Friday and we'll win big. I don't care that we haven't put up a big score in weeks because it looked like a switch flicked last week.

Dees don't have a coach lined up, their current coach doesn't want the job and looking at that Hawks game, they just want this season to end. Score the first 2 - 3 and watch them put the cue in the rack.

Pies by 50. Top 4 locked in.

James Hird was still bullish about us on FC the other night.

Only heard a snippet, but it was along the lines of, 'he knows our coaching staff really well, don't be at all surprised if they have some tricks up their sleeve come finals time, we saw that in the first qtr on Saturday'.

I think faster, unpredictable ball movement is the way to break it, even in wet weather you have to try it.
I agree with your post, but we don't just decide to have 'upredictable ball movement' and hey presto it happens, there's gonna be an opposition that will do everything to stop us doing that.

We did play this ideal game, deny transition through ground defence then, force contest, win ball, transition ball and score, in the first qt. In the 2nd against bris, in the 2nd half against GC, in parts of the freo game.

To do what you want us to do (like pick off 45 kicks in the centre I'm going to assume) then we need unpressured disposal, that comes from inside to outside handball to free up runners from stoppage.

We've been doing this since Fly got here, apart from the last coupla months, the Ade game the outlier

Then Ade managed to apply their own version of the same game, the difference between this game and the other games is that the other games we weren't as disciplined in ground / team d and contest / stoppage game. This allowed those other oppo teams to get through our defensive set ups.

I’m so confused by all this “Houston up the ground” stuff

Why don’t we move Josh back up the ground and actually use Houston for the role we recruited him for?

It was infuriating to watch Josh get tagged out of the game while Houston was kept on the wing

Not sure what’s going on with the coaching lately
