Edwards to play on Saturday.
I think that's unlikely, even if Stanley does get a break.

Because Edwards won't be in the mix for a finals berth, I think they would be more likely to promote a player like Clark, Henry or Knevitt, and use Blicavs and De Koning in the ruck.

If we weren't finals bound, then yeah I could see it happening a la Conway in the last game of 2023.

Let's see. But that's the word floating around.

Stanley won't be risked.

I think if it were to rule him out of a game against a more important opponent, without risking an extra week, we probably would.
There was no risk of the extra week. It was a 1 week suspension no early plea deal.

I wonder if there's another camera angle? There is one obvious reason why they might not have challenged - perhaps he may actually be guilty.
My secondary thought was that they got access to the swans medical report. If he was assessed on the ground or sidelines after this for a head knock that’s likely a confirmation of contact

Its called the Ralph Rule
John Ralph is a cheerleader for a bit of drama. Can barely hold back the sh&t eating grin when there's an incident. Particularly when it involves anyone other than Richmond.

Seriously reckon he get's off on it. I swear there's a bit of movement in the desk when he gets some air time and has something to say. Watch closely and tell me there's not movement.

I reckon when he got word about the Rankine incident he would have resembled something close to that South Park meme where the bloke has an "explosion" in front of the computer screen.

Maybe but that could of cause have happened at anytime during the game even so but a statement ffs,Geelong forward Shannon Neile has been give a 1 match suspension for head high contact confirmation based on the Sydney Swans medical report, job done.

I agree to... because just in case ( touch wood it doesn't happen) if Stanley is injured 1st final, we need someone to come in and that could be Edwards

If Stanley was injured they would just ruck blicavs. Edwards is miles off afl fitness.

so why was he sighted, and suspended, and not contesting?

Ralphy raised it, Christian looked at it, said 'near enough' but the only imagery available to date shows shoulder contact only.

Club has presumably decided to avoid the distraction so close to finals.

Will spend time forward and in the ruck.

But I think he does have mini golf booked for Sunday ;)

If Edwards plays on Saturday its an indication that they dont think Richmond can beat us. Because he isn't ready. Im not against it but it would be surprising.

I’d play Stanley and judge what’s happening up to the half. Swing Blitz into the ruck midway through the third

Unlikely. If he was not guilty, they have zilch to lose, and finals are a fair way off. "Clearly" he chose to bump and made contact with the head. No other explanation. GFC would never accept an incorrect decision without evidence.

No idea, but the footage we've seen shows no head contact. If there's other footage that does, why wouldn't they let us see it?
Why us, so we can make a determination? Geelong accepting this decision speaks loudly enough for me.

Mini golf? 😀

Quite possibly. I noticed on FB that new mini golf place on the corner of Ryrie and Moorabool Streets is meant to be opening on Friday. Mitch might pop down to check it out on the Saturday. ;)

And I thought it was pissweak. Why are you so eager to throw Neale under the bus? The footage I saw showed no head contact- I'm not about to start speculating about hypothetical camera footage from another angle that may or may not exist, or a hypothetical Sydney medical report that may or may not exist. IMO they should have appealed. Perhaps they felt antagonizing Michael Christian further on the eve of the finals would be a poor move. Or maybe Neale was due a "manage" anyway.

I'll humbly agree to disagree.
