On top of that they are a Not-for-profit that recieves grant money from the government. They would need community engagement as one of the deliverables. The social stance is there so they can win grants, but if the social stance stands in the way of commercial intetests they are quickly ignored. Cotchin playing is better for audiences, plenty of other examples of suspensions to point to... Back when spear tackling was the issue Tex got suspended, but when the Richmond vs Essendon clash was going to happen in Indigenous round, two players 1 from each team committed a spear tackle but both tackles were deemed legal before that game. Don't think it's worth people wasting oxygen on Naicos in this of all threads, completely irrelevant.

Hopefully Rankine has a good off-season and puts in some work to temper his emotions. Hopefully the club can do something to make it a somewhat collective activity so he isn't totally isolated.

The level of vitriol he is receiving from the media, including the SA media, is more damaging to him than any suspension.

In recent memory, I can't think of a player who has had to endure this level of criticism. It's not surprising that some of those who have been most vocal have skeletons in their own closet.
