and that's the problem with freo we need this nonsense to get us fired up because we are so mentally weak as a playing group
 
I get the feeling tomorrow is groundhog day and sign of the future.

If this group after last year fail the final day test again.

How can we have any 100% faith in the next 3 or 4 years they can handle the pressure of a Prelim or GF when the stakes are even hotter.

I think the pain of last year should burn deep.

But tomorrow has the possibility to open up more scars within the group which isn't what you want.

i still see good times on the horizon but the question is will it be good or great.

Hopefully tomorrow is the next step in turning it from Good to Great

I hope the players don't think like that because it doesn't matter how long an arc narrative is behind you to conquer, it's not a movie: You still have to beat another team in a game of footy in circumstances where the real chances of winning are 50/50 plus or minus a bit.

All it can do is impair your performance in circumstances where it's the little things that move that dial just that much closer to winning.

I fear what it could mean for this playing list and our rebuild if we fall short tomorrow AND start off 2026 in bad form. All these different expectations and coming up short constantly for no reward will takes it toll. Just feels like we need to win tomorrow and win a final because the other route will end in heartache. Wish things would just go our way for once.

Ive booked my prelim final accommodation in Adelaide.
My Melbourne dive is a standing order since 2013.

The dogs will be trying to put us away early. They will be looking for a run of 5 or 6 goals in a row from centre bounce dominance to stretch out to a 30 or 40 point lead and quell any momentum we might have. Thats their absolute one wood when their tails are up at Marvel.

It’s crucial we don’t get blown away before half time. Drag it into a battle of attrition late in the 3rd quarter at least and I think they can be undone.

We should be tougher and more battle hardened than them when it comes down to the wire then in the 4th.

Yeah that’s my nightmare. JL starts with Brayshaw Serong and O’Meara with Young on the bench and Fyfe sub & they waltz out with the first 4 goals before we try anything.

I’d be starting Bolton, Fyfe and Young with Serong deep forward and Brayshaw on the wing. **** with their heads.

Mind you I’d have Simpson playing for Worner or Banfield but it’s all easy from the sidelines b
 
If we want contain their dangerous fwds, team D is going to be crucial. This starts in the middle. Can't have them doing what butters did few weeks back by just waltzing it out the middle and hitting a lead target
 
Our small forwards in Switta, Reid, Bolton & Frederick all need to play a blinder. There’s going to be opportunities for them through the corridor & they need to be on from the start. We have to be tidy & competent with our inside 50 decision making & execution.

We cannot afford to leave scores out there like last week because once we get behind it’s going to be tough against a front running team like the Bulldogs in front of their 28 supporters & a dog to peg them back.
